That would be awesome if we could have 7 out of 10 teams go bowling.
I think next year might be our year to have a Sunbelt team in a NY6 bowl

Where is the NY6 bowl next season?

Boise State will be playing in the Fiesta Bowl next year.

It's always going to be Peach, Cotton, or Fiesta... Right?

Unless a G5 rep makes the Semifinal, yes. Cotton has a Semifinal next year, and Peach hosts the G5 rep this year, so it likely falls to Fiesta.

It was peach and fiesta this year. 2016 Cotton and 2015 Peach

I think it’s Sugar and Rose maybe Orange next year but I could be mistaken

Fiesta and Peach were this year. I think they designate two NY6 G5 bowl possibilities and depending on which is closer to the G5 representative is where the game will be played.

It'll most likely be the Fiesta Bowl next year and the Cotton Bowl the following year, based on the CFB semifinals. We've also had a G5 play in the Orange Bowl (2009 & 2013), but it's rare.

They can, but they don't have to. It's really left up to the committee.

Don’t see Troy in the camellia bowl simply because it’s essentially a home game. Troy would spend 0 money on hotels. It’s a 40 min drive north and a lot of our fans are up in the Montgomery area anyway. The stadium would be too small for JUST Troy let alone sharing it with a MAC school

Troy will never ever in a million years play in the Camillia Bowl. You guys say that every year ad nauseum and it never happens.

Golly jeepers, I just hope we make it to a bowl game. Shucks.

In a league with 5 bowls, saying that you'd never play in Montgomery in a million years is a bit out there. You go 6-6 one time and suddenly Montgomery looks very attractive.

The odds dictate that if we keep our 5 bowls through the next cycle (starts in 2019) than you'll play everywhere except Arizona at least once.

If a Troy team is still left after NO Bowl and DG Bowl you bet they'll get picked up by the Camellia bowl. While the city wants hotel guests, the bowl (who is owned by ESPN) would be okay with a sellout and good showing on TV.

Yep.

If it wasn't ESPN owned, it would be one thing, but ESPN is going to go for best matchup...period.

I don't see the New Orleans, Mobile or Camellia bowl wanting to sign agreements without the Sun Belt. The Cure Bowl might try to get a CUSA tie-in but I doubt it, with Boca Bowl being right down the road and having the CUSA tie-in.

ESPN only owns one bowl tie-in that the Belt is currently linked to. The SBC has been just as good for the Camellia Bowl as the Bowl has been to the conference. I could see ESPN try to work a SBCvsCUSA match up for it and drop the MAC. I could also see ESPN offer an alternative slot to the SBC to play in the Birmingham or Bahamas Bowl and try to lure the league away from the Arizona Bowl.
