App State fan with an amazing troll job on Charlotte Athletics Department - Niner National - 12-21-2017 05:50 PM

The short version is, local newspaper wrote an article about the backlash against our athletic director for retaining our 1-11 football coach (who has never had a winning season and has shown virtually no promise of doing so). A quote was included that expressed support for her, but it seemed very suspicious.
After some investigative journalism, some niner fans uncovered some hilarious truths.

Sad that it could have such influence. Then again similar manipulation made a mess of Tennessee athletics, and some would argue elected a strange President.
But yes brilliant, in the same way that pulling of a kick-me sticker on the back of the most hated PE teacher in High School was.

The trolljob is brilliant and hilarious.
The writer is a loser who desperately needs a life. If you care that much to do days and days of investigating and hundreds of pages of reading for something so miniscule just to get a dig at someone, that person utterly controls your life and has won. Judy’s a winner compared to that blowhard.

The trolljob didn't take that much time and energy--less than many of us waste here every day. Find a list of addresses on a rival schools' fansite, write a couple of emails, send a couple of emails.
The writer was doing amateur journalism, which is more time-consuming. FOIA requests, calling for comments, etc. He expected to find digital breadcrumbs of an Athletic Department employee faking fan sentiment. What he found was much darker, and darkly humorous.

Troubling though how easy it is to create an identity and someone who likes it will cling to it without checking and it is hard work proving it is fake.

Apparently a guy on App's message board was responsible for the prank, and has owned up to it today. I'm expecting there will be a follow up with their side of the story soon.

We sent many emails sticking up for the current UNCC athletics department's leadership, some were tongue in cheek support, others were blatant troll jobs, "Grady's" was subtle, yet on point. Obviously, that one won the contest when Judy framed it on her night stand and took it hook, line, sinker.

Thanks. It's been a long time coming. The fans got us football and the fans helped get rid of a complacent AD. Now it's time to get a decent AD and get bball back to where it used to be and get football on the right track.
