Is a 3.5 point favorite. Over/under is 156. Our guys could really use a W.

Looks like this is a very winnable game for the Seahawks. NDSU will have an upper hand in depth as they go about 9 deep, and their top 2 leading scorers are 6'6 Wings, which UNCW doesn't have much of anyone to match them defensively. Paul Miller looks like a really skilled player as he has averaged over 15 ppg the past 2 seasons and is right at that mark again this year... He reminds me of Omar Prewitt. However, NDSU does not seem to have anyone that can handle Cacok. I expect a monster game from him if he can stay out of foul trouble. If Talley and Ty Taylor can continue their play and a couple of the role players can step up I do believe the Seahawks will get a win in this one. WINGS UP

RE: nd state - 82hawk - 12-21-2017 02:48 PM

I really think the switch went on for Taylor against Furman. I expect him to be far more aggressive in attacking the basket and taking big shots. As much as Talley has improved his game, we've got to have an assist man to get everyone involved. When Talley is driving and shooting, it doesn't involve anyone else.

Also, i'd like to see fewer "plays" to Cacok in the post. Let the guards drive and either dish to him, kick our for a 3 or take the layup. We'd get more open 3's and Cacok can clean up the post. I still like either Cacok or Bryan, but not both, in the post at the same time. Clogs up the middle too much for the guards to drive.\

As stated, we just need a W.

Taylor might be the answer we needed after losing Flemmings to graduation. Talley and Cacok are phenomenal but you need a third strong threat to really spread out a defense. Three strong options to score surrounded by role players is key. Fornes is also another strong player but still a bit streaky. Another year and Fornes will really be demanding a defense's attention.

There was a play towards the end with Furman that cut it to four. Ty Taylor had the ball on the wing and drove with Marcus on the inside. Marcus essentially backed out both of their men while Ty was driving to open up an easy lay up. I really really liked the smart play from Marcus and hope he contributes more like this to help avoid clogging it up as you said. Both he and Cacok could be involved like this more.

Marcus is playing the best he has since arriving at UNCW. I'm now confident with him in the post as a scorer and rebounder. I wish he'd back off the jumper though, it's not his shot. I used to like setting up an offense inside/out, but I know like guard penetration to the basket to hit the layup or score. It collapses a defense more. Bryan is fine in a 4 guard set now, last year he struggled.

He has improved tremendously, but yeah... he's gotta leave that jump shot to the guards.

According to the available viewing schedule Solo posted that I stickies a while back, it looks like it's only CUSA tv, which is PPV.

Looks like since we are not actually playing UTEP it won't be on cusa.tv

If we play UTEP tomorrow game will be streamed on CUSA.tv if not audio only

RE: nd state - Gary Miller - 12-21-2017 06:56 PM

I don't see anything on CUSA.tv other than the UTEP v. Howard Game.

RE: nd state - B_Hawk06 - 12-21-2017 07:12 PM

I'm using ESPN Gamecast and just watching stats. We're down 10-15 right now.

RE: nd state - B_Hawk06 - 12-21-2017 07:12 PM

Scratch that. Down 10-18.

RE: nd state - B_Hawk06 - 12-21-2017 07:14 PM

So far we have an 11 to 5 edge on the glass, but we've turned it over 4 times to their 1.

RE: nd state - B_Hawk06 - 12-21-2017 07:15 PM

We are 0-3 from deep, they're 4-7. Down 10-20.

RE: nd state - B_Hawk06 - 12-21-2017 07:17 PM

Holy crap. Scratch that too. They're 5-8 now, and we're down 10-23. 10 minutes to go in the 1st.

RE: nd state - B_Hawk06 - 12-21-2017 07:18 PM
