UofL fighting back! - Dasville - 12-14-2017 07:55 AM

Suing Pitino for lost NCAA tournament money.
You know, the path UofL decided to take regarding the NCAA may not have been the path Coach Pitino would have taken. They are suing Coach Pitino for a coarse of action they themselves made! What a cluster!
The NCAA themselves ruled that Coach Pitino didn’t know.

Par.

Ample interviews out there showing CRP would have handled things differently with the NCAA at the time UofL trying to make Coach pay for actions the University took independently while also possibly ignoring CRP input.

I think it's more of a counter suit should by some miracle that he would win his lawsuit, an argument not to pay the full $35 million. If Grissom & Postel were smart, which I don't see much evidence of, they would be working on a settlement. By all accounts though their so called negotiations have just been a farce, or they could just be the worlds worst negotiators. Can you imagine how this looks to potential coach/AD/presidential candidates? A championship & HoF coach being locked out of his office & not given the opportunity to collect his belongings. A top 15 ranked AD among his peers who transformed his university from a commuter college into an ACC member being bullied & subjected to a slander campaign. Who would want to step into this mess?

What some people don’t understand is that TJ was the poster boy for the NCAA,
Title 9, as well as UofL and fundraising. While the school down the street publicly announces “hires” to “protect” it from the NCAA, TJ asked them to show up any time and any day. Local media just sending notice they will testify on UofL behalf (imagine that!).

I remember much ridicule regarding Denny and ladies and phone plans. Part of reason TJ was “hired”. Local media cuts both ways but uk influence doesn’t.

I’ve said it before. The Kentucky Sports Radical is the enemy, and if they have their way, the reason for the damage, on the University of Louisville as an University.
If you don’t bow down and exhault them they try to damage you. It’s not unique and nobody knows more that Rick Pitino.

Rick owned the State of Kentucky and the Kentucky Sports Radicals have been waiting for him to drive like he used to so they could nail him.
Aka Billy Clyde!

Pitino was a good coach, he was also great at cheating in his BB career. 07-coffee3

Denny was a better coach and also great at cheating in his BB career.
Remember the good ol’ days when all you had to give away was a degree?

I can't support a president & board chairman that want to wipe out the ULAA. This would lead to the entire university answering directly to them.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.courier-journal.com/amp/887345001

“All looks good,” Grissom wrote, “but the key takeaway should be that we do away with ULAA and athletics comes under the exclusive jurisdiction of the UL Board (just as U.K. has done).”

“Agree completely,” Postel replied.

ECU is a great school. You are fighting money and politics against 4 P5 teams in your own state. Surely you can appreciate our fight?

At least then we could move forward & not backwards. It not sounding like Tyra will be retained. Postel has been saying that he's not sure if Tyra wants the job permanently. Is that true or is he getting to popular for their liking, or maybe Tyra is having second thoughts about working for them.

It’s getting nasty. UofL actively seeking to destroy Tom Jurich’s reputation.

https://www.courier-journal.com/story/sports/college/louisville/2018/01/29/louisville-tom-jurich-private-investigator-detective/1074337001/

From the link:

Quote:"It is ironic to hire a private investigator to pursue allegations that simply do not exist," Jurich said. "In fact, the implication of an allegation (of sexual harassment) is a bold lie. It is shocking and shameful that someone associated with the University of Louisville has hired a private investigator to pursue a witch hunt against me. The University of Louisville has attempted to destroy my reputation over the last six months; the same University in which my family and I gave twenty years of faithful service."

What an epic clusterfluck the handling of this is. What an embarrassment.

I don't know how anyone can have any confidence in the current leadership to lead the university in the right direction, in an "ethical" direction.

Does Mark still work for the University? I haven’t heard. I know he was there a month or so ago.

How telling that the investigators went right to the media for leads. I know the Courier Journal has reported they were approached. I wonder if they only went to the print media. I guess we will have to let that cake bake.

RE: UofL fighting back! - Dasville - 01-30-2018 09:21 AM

Law firm Postel hired:

https://www.skofirm.com/industry/sports/

From the link:

Quote:Stoll Keenon Ogden attorneys offer significant experience providing counsel to one of the nation’s most successful collegiate athletics programs. In every facet – from employment and labor to legal defense to NCAA compliance – our trusted guidance allows athletic directors, staff, coaches and student-athletes to maintain their focus on academic success and athletic dominance.

Legal Matters Include:

Contract Negotiation
Compliance
Mediation
Employment Litigation
Real Estate/Environmental
General Matters

My question is why in the hell didn’t we hire this firm to battle the NCAA instead of Smrt?

And here is the PI that the University has hired to investigate Tom Jurich:

http://www.kysiu.com

They are very good at their jobs it reads like and use their resources to accomplish the task their client directs.

I believe he is still there which I find surprising.

How do you think a potential AD candidate views this situation? I think the universities actions has severally limited the pool. Why would another top AD consider the UofL when it has shown unscrupulous behavior towards a widely successful employee of whom the interim president that oversaw his dismissal had highly praised just the month before? Was Postel & Grissom jealous of all of the bad publicity that Michigan State was getting?
