All:
After reading this thread, and running early this morning, I thought what if we had a Conference Draft of universities.
What I propose is that various posters play the role of the following conference comissioners
C-USA
Big Sky
WAC
Summit
Sun Belt
Southland
MVC
Horizon
Here are the rules -
1. We will have a draft of all of the available colleges. The order will be created using random.org.
2. All new conferences must try to be as geographically tight as possible, non-football sports are the driver behind this realignment.
3. Academics, institutional fit, geography, etc are all open for reason to choose a school.
4. No new conferences will be created, nor lost as the NCAA wants to keep the auto bids the same.
5. You have two trades that can be used at any time in the draft, you could trade a school plus a draft pick for multiple picks, etc.
Anyone want in? If you can make a good reason why another conference should be in, let me know and I will consider them.
Yes I am the ultimate dictator at the end of the day.
Please respond with the conference that you want. Once the conferences are all taken, I will create a list of schools as well as the order of the draft.

Well, all this is about NMSU trying find an escape pod. If there is one, it's CUSA break up

The current CUSA is really just Sun Belt 2.0...or the original Sun Belt with a new name...either way everyone knew it was going to be crap.

From the article, "The best solution is for Conference USA and the Sun Belt to both dissolve and allow the schools to form two or three regional leagues. This will cut down on travel and help build more regional rivalries."
If I recall the same sentiment came from one of the Louisiana Sun Belt schools in an article last year. CUSA and Sun Belt are going to need to adjust. G5 money is going away.

Both seem to be geographically challenged, but C-USA seems to have many more disgruntled members.
