What are Dukes thankful for?? - jmutoml757 - 11-21-2017 09:57 AM

As I read nasty tweets that went back and forth between Middle Tennessee fans and their own players, watched video of their fans burning tickets and saw fans tweeting how recruits should not go to MTSU I was reminded how awesome it is to have HCMH and the culture he has brought to JMU football....I am thankful for that!

Big Boy football right there. So unbelievably big time. What exactly happened to start what I'm sure is a bogus online protest by their fans.

What am I thankful for? Winning 25 of 26, including undefeated against FCS. Simply amazing.

I'm thankful that the playoffs run through Harrisonburg, VA and Bridgeforth Stadium. Lock the damn gates!

Successful student athletes who leave JMU to become successful members of society.
Athletic programs who are focused on doing things the right way and the success that results from these efforts.
The WBB and softball teams and the opportunity to meet and get to know so many nice young women.
The Pep Band and MRD's who are so supportive of the athletic teams. They add so much to the programs they support.
This message board that provides so much entertainment when I need a break from work.
The fact that at least one playoff game will be on a Saturday afternoon - hopefully in the sun. I am still frozen from last year's semifinal game....

Happy Thanksgiving one and all!

I have more to be thankful for than space will permit.

At my age, being able to witness the success of our football program is beyond words. Mike Houston is the coach we live to have as our head football coach. Ride this wave as far as it will take us.

I am thankful for having family and friends who share in all things JMU.

I am thankful for my career in basketball at JMU and long for the return of basketball glory in the new UBT Center.

JMU is in a good place. We should all be thankful for what Jeff Bourne and Charlie King have built.

I'm thankful for the entire athletic department for giving me something to get behind and root for when I need an escape form the regular rigors of life.
I'm specifically thankful for the teams that win championships: Volleyball, Cross Country, Football, Softball, etc.
I'm thankful for every poster on this board, yes even Dukeman!
Most of all I'm thankful for 'Merica!

I'm thankful for the statue of Mike Houston who won 3 straight FCS titles, took us to FBS and became the first Non-P5 school to win 2 BCS championships in a row then got us in the ACC..

I'm thankful to have been accepted and attended JMU. It's the greatest place I could have ever hoped to attend. I'm one of JMU 11 graduates (some via marriage) on my Mother's side of the family. Thankful that my stepson who wanted to transfer after his freshman year loves JMU as a sophomore like my wife and I do.

Also thankful for the lifelong friends I've made who attended JMU and all of the fun we've had watching JMU Dukes Football since the first National Championship in Chattanooga in 2004. What a ride. Hoping for many more under the leadership of Coach Houston and his staff.
