McCain, Graham and Trump agree - bullet - 11-01-2017 05:26 PM

http://thehill.com/policy/national-security/358242-mccain-graham-put-nyc-terror-suspect-in-military-detention

Two prominent Senate Republicans on Wednesday called for the suspect in the New York City terror attack to be held in military custody as an enemy combatant.

I'm not convinced that we should treat legal residents like foreign combatants. We should do a better job making sure those type of people don't get in in the first place.

Yeah, it would be a bad precedent. Sure this guy seems clearly guilty, but what's next if they charge someone with planning an attack or something along those lines. And most importantly, it's not as if we're going to have a problem convicting this guy. Why change it?

He is not a citizen. He used his privledge of being here to act as a foreign combatant. He belongs at the Gitmo camp. They all do. We can't have these people in the gen pop at Rikers Island growing in numbers and radicalizing disgruntled Americans. That's how it spreads.

When you align yourself with a country or organization that has declared they are at war with the United States and you attack US citizens, property, or military you become an enemy combatant.

Is that how citizenship works?

I'm all for that, it might deter someone who's planning an act but isn't ready to die for it. He'll know that if caught he'll be sent to Gitmo. Win-win.

Are the domestic terrorists like KKK be treated the same thing? They declared war on the USA to destroy the nation. They want an all white country, and send the rest in the other half for a second country. These are the types of people that tossed the Native americans off their lands in the east to Reservations in Oklahoma.

This is one of.those things that starts with an obvious terrorist that no one wouldn't seeing treated as an enemy combatant and then slowly gets expanded over time to include more and more people who do not fit that description

When you align yourself with an enemy of this country you forfeit the protections of citizenship.

So Trump and his Russian supporters are not citizens?

Seems like the textbook case study. You'd think this would be unopposed.

When did we go to war with Russia?
