Executives from Papa John's, the official pizza company of the NFL, expressed disappointment on a conference call Wednesday about the league's ongoing player protests during the national anthem.
"The NFL has hurt us," company founder and CEO John Schnatter said. "We are disappointed the NFL and its leadership did not resolve this."
Executives said the company has pulled much of its NFL television advertising and that the NFL has responded by giving the company additional future spots.
"Leadership starts at the top, and this is an example of poor leadership," Schnatter said, noting he thought the issue had been "nipped in the bud" a year and a half ago.

That's what the surveys show. They've been posted in this forum several times. Its a big factor in the decline.

The decline in NFL ratings is less than the overall decline in television ratings in general though? Perhaps it's having an effect, but it's not like the NFL hasn't been hemorraging viewers for years now due to outdated broadcast rules and less people using cable in general.

You are wrong. The local blackout rule was lifted, and the vast majority of games are on free TV broadcasting, Fox, CBS and NBC.

It is a shame Pizza Hut use to be the best when they made their own dough everyday.

I like to go to Pizza Shuttle or Pizza Pro which they are cheaper. They have good Meatball subs.
Pizza Hut I ordered a special pizza, and found a beetle on one of the slices that was cooked in with the Pizza.

It isn't. It's the media coverage of it that is. 5 years ago a player could kneel and nobody would ever know. They never showed the anthem until the playoffs. The media manufactured two outrages. One by the side that pretends they can't imagine how someone could protest during the anthem and one on the side that pretends they can't imagine how someone could be turned off at protesting during the anthem. The middle, who may say "I understand the protest, but that's not the best time" or "I don't like the protest, but it's not that big of a deal", is made to look like they don't exist.
What's hurting the NFL in this situation is the fact that you have two groups, that live to antagonize each other, overreacting to anything and everything. I bet less than 1% of football players were doing it before Trump wanted more of them to do it.

It may not be the most pressing factor in the NFL's struggles, but to deny it as a symptom of the NFL's problems is foolish.
