Don't Shoot The Messenger..... - btiger - 10-07-2017 07:18 AM

Tennessee writer on sports radio in Nashville just said that UT's two targets are Mullen and norvell

I doubt Mullen would leave for Knoxville given the whacked out expectations of their fanbase. I don't know about Norvell. Knoxville is a tough job.

He's paid to give his opinion, so he gave one.

All we can do is sit back and see what develops and go from there. Want to keep him, but he's got to do what's best for him and his family.

If we have a choice between Mullen, Norvell, or the messenger, I know which one I'm picking.

LMAO, OMGRIZZ!! :)

They should give Freezus a redemption story

Norvell's offense vs Butch's offense is like comparing a Ferrari to an oxe cart. They'd take him in a minute, but they will have to pay up. Is what it is.

I heard it live and in person this morning on 102.5

A successful Tiger coach (like all but a handful of schools) will be heavily courted by bigger and better programs. I do not lose a moment’s rest over it.

Yep. If I had to bet on Norvell being here next year, I'd have to bet against it. If you're a good non-P5 coach, you gotta make the jump when given even a semi-decent P5 opportunity. It's our leadership's job to continually find the next great coach. Our last two hires have worked out nicely, and we'll eventually have to do it again.

All that being said, the UT job sucks.

Yep...I'm loving the fact that we have another coach who has won enough games with an exciting brand of football that is attracting the big fish.

We'll just hire another offensive genius to help us reload.

This. Exactly. Definitely beats the alternative where nobody wants your coach. It is what it is.

UT's not a big fish. Haven't been for at least 50 years.

But they have a huge budget, huge fan base and play in the SEC.

I detest UT-K football and some of their fans, but it is a big time program (top 20 certainly) in terms of attendance, facilities, tradition, exposure, and (of course), greenbacks.

UT is a big fish even though I hate them...They are in the SEC, huge budget, 100+ thousand on game day, huge alumni base..and last but not least the right coach can win there..

RE: Don't Shoot The Messenger..... - TigersRuleAll - 10-07-2017 09:54 AM

If Norvell leaves, our first call should be to Blake Anderson at Arkansas State.

I'm hearing that UT is interested in Freeze.
