Dear Friends,
I will agree that our punter/punters need to improve their game. However when we lose, people start to nick pick what we could have done in various situations. I'm not happy with the loses that maybe could have been wins, but let's all take a deep breath and get ready for Army. Blaming certain players for mistakes isn't going to solve anything, and I'm not looking through rose colored glasses. Penalties, dropped passes, missed tackles, can, and probably do, cause teams to lose games.

Great defense
Terrible special teams/horrible horrible horrible punter
Poor run game. (Where the h+ll is Turner???)
Mediocre Roback. Prior to season I thought maybe an NFL chance......no more. Misses wide open 2nd and 3rd options constantly, and continues to force those sideline lobs when his receiver is blanketed. Such a ridiculously low percentage throw but you simply can't coach it out of the kid.
Terrible play calling. On that last drive we have no business/no reason to run the ball. After quickly getting across midfield we had a run for lost yardage, and another run where we got a 10 yard holding call. Infuriating.

How many more winnable games are we going to lose in the exact same fashion? Such a missed opportunity this year with this defense.

Our DC will get poached long before Creighton gets other offers. Keen just not getting the job done.
Probably won't lose another game. Toledo is a great team and we went in there and should have won.

Big ups to Jalen Phelps for that goaline defensive play. You gave us a chance. The whole defensive unit, take a bow, you played like champions today. Very impressed.

Those who did not see the game on CBS Sports Network missed this mistake (not all mistakes were made by players):

Well I agree with most of your points, penalties continue to set us back. However I don't think our offensive line allowed a sack yesterday. Punting and blocking for extra points and field goals appears to be our weak spots on special teams. The rest seems decent considering what we lost to graduation. I did see more passes to RBs which I consider to be needed to vary the offense. Zero offensive production out of the TE spot. Just a point of information outside of the true frosh punter the only other true frosh who have played this year are Myrick and Hubbard. We need to roll the rest of the year. Frustrating to say the least. And no Roback is not having the year we expected of him. On the other hand lack of running attack puts him in a spot of having to throw about every down.

True about Neathery. He had a great defense at UTSA before coming to EMU, but their offense wasn't getting the job done. Looks eerily similar to this season.

EMU is solid at many places. UT missing All MAC RB and WR made this game considerably different and weird. Toledo doesnt play 15 to 20 type games... Surprised by the outcome. Would have expected an EMU win with those 2 players injured. Lucky to be alive and 1-0 in conference. If EMU finds a running game or Roback cleans it up then EMU is an 8-4 team (where i predicted them in August).

P*ss off. You're backup RB is as good or better than the starter. Make all the excuses you want, but our horrible punting, and poor play calling on that last drive are the only things that saved your s*rry butts.

No he isnt? What? Terry is an all MAC back and shakif is a fr. Big guy, and Thompkins is a small scat back?
