IMO yes. He was on his way to putting up gynormus career numbers and the Reds could've competed for a championship if he was the Seattle version of Griffey, Jr. Griff was the Michael Jordan of baseball at the time but it didn't pan out long term as he missed parts of three seasons in a row from injuries (some freak like the hamstring that tore off of his leg bone). He was never the same after that including bat speed and power.
