UNT vs. Southern Miss Thread - TTT - 09-26-2017 04:48 PM

We win by two possessions but what worries me is that we play @ UTSA next weekend who has a BYE this week so they will probably be watching our game...check that, no they won't because our game isn't televised because of our tuuuurible TV deal.

Not to worry. The entire UTSA team dresses as first responders and gets in free. They stay until Karaoke with the Coach begins.

We'll be fine at UTSA if we avoid the pick plays.

RE: UNT vs. Southern Miss Thread - TTT - 09-27-2017 08:30 AM

It's amazing when you re-watch the UTSA/USM game from last year...3rd play of the game and it's 3rd and long for UTSA...they throw a deep ball, busted coverage and UTSA scores, their next series, ANOTHER busted coverage deep score, a few series later, a busted assignment and a 70 yard TD run...that's 3 TD's off rare busted coverage/assignments. They got 336 of their 532 yards on FIVE plays. That's insane. Not happening again. Still pissed we have to go to UTSA 2 years in a row.

Not that I care how Charlotte feels but I imagine they feel the same about coming back to us a 2nd straight year especially with it being one of their 2 cross over games

The bright side of the game not being televised is that attendance should receive a bump. Hopefully the throwback uniforms/recognition of the 1997 team will boost that number further.

It's all south band day so that should be your attendance bump right there.

And we can tell everyone there were more than announced. 02-13-banana

The over / under is 60. That should be attainable IF Community College of Denton brings a few.

They are counting only people actually there this year. They said 24K plus last game. Not sure where we could put 12,000 more fans in the stadium, but that's the number they reported.

As to TV, it will be available online.

If I'm not mistaken, that first one was an illegal pick play the conference said should have been called.

If...should...

Both were. Short crossing patterns with D in tight man.

Hi,
UNT Fan here (in case you couldn’t tell by my handle), we have a thread on our forum discussing this thread. You should check it out and look around at some of the other threads about this game and the team in general! I’ve got UNT winning this one 34-31 btw.

RE: UNT vs. Southern Miss Thread - nastybunch - 09-28-2017 03:39 PM

I'll go with 28 - 17, USM...Looks like their fans are overlooking us and can't remember that we were starting a true freshman against them last year.

RE: UNT vs. Southern Miss Thread - goldeneagle21 - 09-28-2017 04:01 PM

Yawn...another weak Sunbelt team this week... USM 33 NT 16

RE: UNT vs. Southern Miss Thread - TheChosenOne - 09-28-2017 04:58 PM

UNT wins over powerhouse Lamar and squeaks by UAB. Beat down at the hands of Iowa and SMU. Southern Miss quality of opponents haven't been much better. Offense still trying to find its identity while defense is carrying the team. 38 - 17 Southern Miss.

RE: UNT vs. Southern Miss Thread - shiftyeagle - 09-29-2017 08:00 AM

Probably the most offensively-competent team we've played thus far. No, not great, but they can move the football.

RE: UNT vs. Southern Miss Thread - Reggie Favre - 09-29-2017 09:28 AM

ONLY bc their HC "learned" his offense from Fedora, i say they score 17-20 pts. Unfortunately for UNT, we score 40.

Its the first weekend of Cruisin the Coast. That might hurt attendance a little bit.
