Carver is going to be a good player for us, if he can be anything close to a Keyon Carter type. That would be awesome

Washington had the body type and athleticism typically seen in Wide Recievers. Does Carver look anything like a perimeter player? How does he handle ball, drive the lane, and shoot from the outside?

The fans on the Wake Forrest forum unanimously said that McClinton only played small forward for them when I posed the question to them. His high school articles consistently list him exclusively as small forward. I shared all of that information on the boards soon after he was announced as coming to ODU. If you have facts to back up your statement then post it.

As I stated earlier, Carver isn't going to "look anything like a perimeter player" when he is practicing for, training for, and playing an inside position. As for handling the ball and driving the lane ... how does BJ perform at those if that is your definition? The answer is that he doesn't do it all that well.

Absolutely.

Ed Miller knows what's up;

That sounds about right to me. He's a good kid that is going to work hard at whatever his task is to become successful. It was telling to me that Jones stated he thought Aaron could best help the team by playing power forward.

I see him more as a mix of Keyon and Chris Cooper, almost like smashing them together.

Zoran Tally is out indefinitely with a stress fracture in his foot.
I don't think this will hurt us though.03-yawn

Loved that article and love Carver. He is playing well and will only get better. And btw, I see no resemblance to Keyon Carters game whatsoever myself. Carver is much stronger, a better rebounder too. But he is no three point threat at all, only taken 1 this year. Keyon Carter was a real threat there. Both were good, just different imo.

Agree they are different, but they both came of the bench and provided that instant boost. In carters case it was scoring, in Carvers case he brings solid rebounding and toughness.

Yes, hence me thinking more of Coop but different.

See where Towson got a few votes in the top 25 poll. Middle Tenn got 1.

Mac, don't you know that ODU has a 220-0 record against Towson all time? They aren't a good team, clearly the voters are making a mistake... /s

I would like to point out the blatent bias against this conference. Both are 1-loss teams.

Towson is a program that I'm not sure has ever been to the NCAA tournament. Yes, they have a good team this year, but they still really haven't beaten anyone and have struggled against a few mediocre teams.

MTSU has gone to the NCAA tournament 2 years in a row and won a game each year. They have wins over 2 SEC teams, 2 wins against a good FGCU team, and have handed 6-1 Murray State their only loss.

By any objective comparitive standard, MTSU is the better team (not to discount the fact that Towson is also good).

Yet, MTSU can still only manage to garner a single vote in the polls.

That same FGCU team, by the way, lost to the "terrible" team that we just beat by 40.

They are still 7-4 with a couple of decent wins and are usually in the NCAA tournament. No, they aren't world beaters, but they are probably as good as or better than anyone Towson has beaten. Bowling Green isn't terrible either, just played like garbage at the same time as we played well. That was our "DePaul game" of the year.

I wasn't disagreeing with you that FGCU was good. I think they are. My point was that Bowling Green wasn't as "terrible" of a team as some on here claim. We made them look bad, but it happens, even to decent teams.

Especially right around the holidays on the road. Im glad that was a home game. We've been on the receiving end of those holiday routs too many times.

Yep, I'm actually worried about Fairfield.

I guess that's good in the long run. Charlotte is one of those historically good teams in our conference that just hasn't been able to get it together.

A good Charlotte and UTEP team will go along way to improving CUSA Basketball.
