BGSU football - Mike Jinks - owen - 09-17-2017 11:21 AM

Any doubt he is the least qualified head coach in the NCAA?

An embarrassment to the conference.

No big deal if BGSU loses to Toledo for the next few years. It will build character among the Falcon players.

How often do position coaches at P5 schools work out? Ironically enough Urban Meyer is the only example I can think of, but Jinks was an uninspired choice from the get-go.

In all fairness, he was the 'associate head coach' at Texas Tech. Correct?

To me, that's certainly qualifications enough at a G5 school and as much as a MAC school can afford.

I think Kent's Paul Haynes holds that title and will refuse to let it go!!

I think the vast majority of his career was in high school. Might of had 2-3 years exposure to the college game.

He's like a Rob Ianello. Instant catastrophe. Gotta admit the failure quickly and move on.

He'll be here for the next few years ( I think he has a 5 year contract). BG will not buy him out. Our only hope is that he learns on the job. His recruiting seems decent so far. This might be an 0-12 year. The BG vs Kent game will be interesting. Toledo will even their all time record with us this year. First time BG will not lead in that series since 1957-58. Can't wait for the next 9 games.

I think one of the most interesting parts of the MAC these recent years is BGSU's decline. They go from an East power with MAC Championship games and a MAC Championship itself to next season being a cellar-dweller. Must be rough on the fans.

Yes. You are right. Wonder if he was brought in for recruiting purposes, etc. at Texas Tech.

Re-reading his resume (compliments of Wikipedia) I wouldn't have hired him.

I'd want more collegiate experience.

BGSU didn't want to spend on a next level hire and they are paying for it.

WMU spent more on Lester. Let's see if they get results for it.

Why would you even hire a guy with that last name, it's just wrong.
