You guys do realize he said in his first article that this was going to be a series of "anti-jinx" articles in which he intentionally sandbags JMU? It's not serious.

Not so sure last week's article was originally written as satire. Seems like he kinda "backed into" that one...

That said it's a funny little gag but opening by quoting verbatims from the angry emails he received made me anticipate that the worst kind of petty call-out article was just below the fold. Thankfully it wasn't that. Keep on keepin on, I guess?

This is Chase Kiddy. He was a Sports Editor for The Breeze a couple years back and guarantee not many root harder. I'm just glad Hero Sports picked up a JMU-specific column/writer for the year.

Yea, I got more than one OUTRAGED text and email about some guy at Hero Sports running the Dukes down...

Uhhhh, no. Tongue firmly in cheek, afraid if it's "Why the Dukes will Definitely Crush the Pirates", he'd be blamed for the L when/if it happened.

Reverse-Jinx. Guess the studies that say something like 90% of people these days only read the Title or Headline of articles and stories are correct.

This is gonna be a season long series of Why the Dukes will Totally Lose to Norfolk State/Nova/Ticks/sisters of the poor etc.

Why would you want your tree to have branches? What has a stronger sturdier core and can survive the forces of nature? A tree with many branches prone to damage from nature (wind) or a sturdy trunk with limited branches for nature to blow down?

Also they have like 3 JMU specific writers now. Kiddy, Bennett Conlin, and the current breeze editor i can't remember his name.
