2017 Football Injury Thread - cmett003 - 09-05-2017 02:54 PM

Not jinxing anything here, just keeping up with injuries and recoveries.

We got out of Game 1 with no serious injuries which is good and seems like Ray was the only one who had issues against Albany. He came out as a precaution and should be just fine against UMass.

Kane Miskel and Justice Davila did not play against Albany. Both will add more depth to the secondary when they come back, and both have a lot of playing experience. No information yet on when they return.

DT Ryan Loundtree was also out against Albany.

Melvin Vaughn was out.

Did he play at all? Why was he out?

I don't know if that was sarcasm or not -- but just in case it was not -- you do realize that article was written in April during spring training, don't you?

This thread is like whistling through a graveyard.... can we kill it and open it when we actually have real injuries to talk about?

Duhart--broken foot
Hendricks--knee
Lawry--hamstring (sounds like he should play vs UNC)
Vaughn--??

I told you this thread was bad news.

Duhart and Mavlin possibly out for the season both needing surgeries.

I think the meniscus is an easier fix though. That is a positive.

I think they will come back if we're in the hunt for a bowl and conf championship late this year if it heals good.

I hate the what if's and but's. If Vaughn and Duhart have to medical redshirt it may not be such a bad thing come next year if QB Williams is the future to have these weapons around.

Honestly think Vaughn is done with football if he cant heal by the end of the season.

RE: 2017 Football Injury Thread - bit_9 - 09-11-2017 09:22 AM

Yeah, that's terrible but he has to use those legs the rest of his life. That's more important than a game.

Wilder confirmed Duhart out for season. Will apply for medical redshirt
