A&M had 1 timeout and ball on the UCLA 40 with 1:10 left to play in the 2nd quarter and chose to run out the clock. I told my wife that this is why he needed to be fired, no matter how well your team is playing you don't stop putting on the pressure. They ran for 256 first half yards and came out and stalled drives in the 2nd half trying to pass.

This kind of crap has to infuriate Aggie fans. It's just plain stupid football. They deserved a blow out win because their kids earned it. They'll be fortunate to get out without a nail biter now. And all because of lousy clock management and getting away from what was winning the game. And because he squandered the chance to get 3 points more at the end of the first half.

A total epic coaching fail by Sumlin. The dummy continued to throw the ball when he could have run enough clock with each possession to win with a controlled running attack. The Aggies need to fire his butt tonight!

I know Saban wasn't happy with everything, but it was more of a dominating win than the score reveals. Bama left a lot of points on the field. F.S.U., not so much.

Francois is reportedly done for the season. That's a huge loss for FSU.

A A&M BOT member made a Facebook post saying he is done with Sumlin and would vote to fire him immediately. November came early in Aggy land this year.

What did I watch last night? Did that really happen? Reminded me of the Super Bowl. 04-jawdrop

Well, I thought A&M had turned a corner and then...nevermind.

I actually turned away from the game when it was 44-10 because the WVU-VT was close all the way through. Flipped back once I heard UCLA had made a couple of scores and thought surely A&M will bury this one, they've just lost a little fire since they were up by so many.

By the time I flipped back it was a one possession game and A&M was doing nothing to kill the clock. Very poor coaching.

What's up with the GT vs Tennessee game?

Tennessee is trying to make a game of it.

Athletically, UT is superior, but they aren't as well coached.

All tied up with a minute to go.

GT has the ball...

And we go to OT on a blocked FG

Can't believe GT went for two that early

They came close, but tenn had that run covered for once

It was actually the smart move. The option is fumble prone and the longer you work it the more likely it is to bite you. Tennessee hadn't stopped the QB option all night long. I think Johnson considered the odds and went for it. Fortunately for Tennessee they had two guys in the right place who actually penetrated to make the play instead of waiting for the ball carrier to come to them (which is what they had done since the 2nd quarter).

I figure it was karma. A&M deserved to win and screwed it up. Tennessee played poorly enough in the first half to have lost and they won. But that said Tennessee played a great 4th quarter when it counted so their win really doesn't make up for the Aggie collapse.

A&M was an utter collapse and coaching failure. Tender fought through an opponent that gives good and bad teams trouble. It wasn't sexy or dominant from Tennessee but Butch didn't lose the game like Sumlin.

Concur on Sumlin's performance in Pasadena. Even though the pass wasn't working and UCLA was dropping 8-9 in the box, you have to spin the clock. Poor Time management is what allowed UCLA to comeback. UT was supposed to have spent most of the spring and summer prepping for Tech, yet played the Jackets like a week 4 opponent. I'm buckling in for a rough season on Rocky Top.

I think generally these teams go for 2 in situations where they think their defense is gassed and not likely to get any stops. If the D is sucking wind then better to try to end it.

To Tennessee's credit, they were shredding GT late in the game.

Too early to tell. Needs time to get his own players in and work on his system. Also have to see what adjustments are made after that great win by Maryland. If Maryland is that good I think I'll pass on the Maryland - Rutgers game in Yankee Stadium. I'll stay home and stay warm, and watch the game on TV where I can change the channel if Rutgers is getting pounded. The beer will be cheaper too. I can get a case of beer for the price of 2 beers at Yankee Stadium.

Maryland did play pretty well. I think they've been undersold a little bit after that win.

A program like Texas should win that game, but Maryland was solid nonetheless.
