Nice to see the Badgers represent the B1G by making a huge splash. Should make for a couple great games.

Looking forward to it...especially since I went to Wisc for grad school and my brother went to Notre Dame for grad school.

Only wish it was a Madison/South Bend series vs. Chicago/Green Bay....I'm in the camp that these neutral site regular season games have a bit of a negative impact on college football.

I agree to a certain extent. I think they can serve a purpose, especially for major non-conference matchups. However, I believe they should be reserved for 3-game series (1H/1A/1N). I also believe they should be in actually neutral sites (ex: Boise St played Virginia Tech in DC - not very neutral.)

For this series, they should do 1 in South Bend, 1 in Madison, and 1 in Chicago.

If the schools are quite far apart, as in the case of Boise St and Virginia Tech, then somewhere like St. Louis, Kansas City, Chicago, Dallas, or Houston may serve as a more neutral site. Accessible to all.

So the following BT programs have scheduled games versus Notre Dame (including this year):

Michigan State
Michigan
Ohio State
Northwestern
Purdue
Wisconsin

Speaking of Purdue, they've announced additional games today. That's almost half the league. It won't be long before Penn State and Nebraska get back on their schedule. Love that newfangled "independence" that ND is pursuing. Right, Terry?

It's a hybrid independence to be honest and realistic.

It works for them having a "scheduling alliance" with the ACC. They get to play their traditional rivals such as Navy and USC plus games against other programs from top conferences. If they want to ever be considered for the final 4, they'll need games against P5 teams, not against Mercer and North Texas.

They're probably one of the few if not the only team that could make this work.

Yeah, I understand why they did it. I was just using the opportunity to rib on a famous Domer fan who likes to brag about how awful the Big Ten is. 07-coffee3

It is a rather odd relationship.

Maybe a case of "I'm ashamed to be here, but not ashamed enough to leave"..... 04-cheers

It is independence as they aren't competing for any conference crowns, but they certainly have a model they are following now. Seems like they are trying to get one Big Ten school a year or so.
