TV for the first game? - mixduptransistor - 08-10-2017 02:48 PM

I'm not going to be able to make it to Birmingham for the first game and the UAB site says it will be televised on "Stadium". Go to their website and it just says "coming soon"

I assume this is just going to be some kind of streaming deal (streaming is better than regular TV for this particular trip anyway), but does anyone have any idea when it's launching, how to access it, will it cost money, etc?

I'll be in Atlanta. I'll see if I can get something out of last year's Atlanta ASN station

Quote:... American Sports Network, Campus Insiders, and 120 Sports announced a mega media merger which we expected to be a huge boon for G5 coverage. This week that has come to fruition as those three companies have formed to create a network called STADIUM. Starting this fall, STADIUM will air C-USA games through Twitter.

Per a press release, STADIUM will be live streamed 24/7 with original programming.

A new, original, fully programmed, 24/7 linear experience will stream live on Twitter in the coming months. This network will integrate exclusive live collegiate sporting events, extensive highlights, classic games, and daily live studio programming. Combining the production quality and editorial values of TV with the speed, accessibility, conversation and interactivity of Twitter, STADIUM infuses real-time, fan sentiment and feedback into every sports conversation, covering the topics that matter most to sports fans as they happen.

The new Twitter video platform will also include sports programming from the WNBA, MLB, the PGA Tour, and the Players’ Tribune. Twitter will offer video programming in news and entertainment, including exclusive content from our parent company Vox Media. All of this content will be available 24/7, free of charge.

Quote:Stadium will be a mix of live college sports, highlights, live studio programming and classic games. 120 Sports will provide the studio programming, Campus Insiders will produce the live sports through Conference USA and Mountain West. Sinclair will provide the television infrastructure.

The signature nightly studio show will be “The Rally.” It will air in three one-hour segments and will have live cut-ins from 120 Sports’ association with MLB, NBA and NHL. “The Rally” will also look at the day’s sports news and discuss the sports issues that influence the day’s events.

Stadium will also have a daily half-hour NFL show that will have reports from various team camps and sites and discuss the latest news on the league.

On Saturdays in the fall, Stadium will air live college football games from Conference USA, Mountain West and other conferences to which American Sports Network and College Insiders have the rights.

The network will launch online in July and on TV in August

Earlier this year, we told you about the new joint venture called “Stadium” between Silver Chalice (Campus Insiders), 120 Sports and Sinclair Broadcasting (American Sports Network) that will be streamed 24/7 on Twitter and will also air live on television. Today in Chicago, the emerging network held its NewFront presentation to advertisers to introduce the channel and to unveil some of its programming.

As we mentioned last month, Stadium will be a mix of live college sports, highlights, live studio programming and classic games.

On Saturdays in the fall, Stadium will air live college football games from Conference USA, Mountain West and other conferences to which American Sports Network and College Insiders have the rights.

The network will launch on Twitter in late July and will go linear on television in August. Stadium hopes that this three pronged approach, on Twitter, streaming online and being on television will expand its audience rather than the fragmented approach had Campus Insiders, 120 Sports and American Sports Network continued separately. By combining their resources, Silver Chalice, 120 Sports and Sinclair hope they will bring the best of their talents together into one entity and attract a mass audience as well.

I know the feed is also available for over the air stations to pick up as well...WABM-68 in Birmingham and WHNT-19 in Huntsville have already announced they are showing the game live.
