UAB softball coach moving into an administrative role - Marathon Blazer - 08-07-2017 11:17 PM

Absolutely hate to see Marla go, but glad she'll be around. She's the only softball coach UAB has ever had. Less than a decade ago, we were playing at a city park in a not-so-safe area. In 2010, we moved into a new stadium and went to 5 straight NCAA tournaments, which included playing in a Super Regional in 2013. Just this past year, the stadium underwent a major renovation, replacing the 350 temporary seats with permanent seating up to about 1,000. This program is light years ahead of where we started, thanks to Marla. As far as her new role, I couldn't think of anybody that would do a better job than Marla.

That means 2 new softball coaches at least come next year in CUSA.

Marshall's Dot Hicks field also just went though major revevations. Before this season started The Dot got a new fence and new turf and new synthetic dirt was just completed this week.

Coach Jen Steele -- Dot Revevations

Good luck in UABs replacement
