Three weeks until the game in Sydney and I have heard little to nothing about the events outside of the pregame tailgate.
Anyone know of anything else in Sydney that will happen around the game?

The first match of the Bledisloe Cup will take place in Sydney a week before our game, in case anyone's arriving early.
I believe the athletic department was trying to get a pub to be the official Rice pub for the days leading up to the game, but not sure what the progress on that is.

I believe the fight is scheduled to start at about 10 p.m. Central time ... an hour after the Rice-Stanford game kicks off.

It's Aussie-Rules Footie season. At the Sydney Cricket Ground on Aug. 26 (the day before the Rice-Stanford game)

That link was broken for me. Are you saying the football stadium where we're playing is going to also show the fight on the big screen? I've never heard of that during an actual game (maybe sometimes in the pre-game, but not during the game).

Aussie Rules is Melbourne's sport, much bigger there than in Sydney. Sydney has one team in the league (Swans, obviously), while Carlton is one of several representing various suburbs/districts of Melbourne. Sydney is probably more into Rugby League (different from Rugby Union, two somewhat different versions of basically the same sport) than anything else.
The Bledisloe Cup match will almost certainly be a sellout, and would be a great event to attend if you were there in time and could get tickets. New Zealand has been dominating world rugby union for the last few years, but there are signs that they may be slipping a bit. The Wallabies might actually have a chance to win this year.
