Ayaan Hirsi Ali has tried for years to raise global awareness against the practice. And she has been labeled a hater and anti-Muslim and denied opportunities to speak at American colleges.

give me a f*cking break. anti FGM legislation has found as much support in congress from dems as it has from GOPers. numerous bill have been met with bipartisan support and Obama advocated against the practice.
hell in michigan it was just passed unanimously to criminalize it.
and good luck trying to find a politcal pattern to which states have/have not done it:

Another attempt by johnny to try to deflect and change the subject. No one suggested that there isn't a large bipartisan majority of Americans who would support a bill to ban this practice. But he makes that the center point of his post to deflect from the fact that it is happening.
Tiger's point was that someone, in the name of multiculturalism, would defend the FGM because it makes Muslim culture look brutalistic and archaic.
And it has been done on this board in the past. One of the resident proglodytes tried to argue that FGM was an "African" thing not a "Muslim" thing. Well the OP shows it is clearly practiced by Muslims, here in America. Trying to change the subject does nothing to change the facts.

Even if you find the one in a million multicultural liberal the fact remains you are ignoring the other 99.9% of libs. To narrow in on the outliers and use that as a tool against the whole group is stigmatizing no matter how you slice it and is rhetoric reserved for only cowards and bigots.
FGM is certainly a big problem in Muslim countries, but it is not exclusive to Muslim countries, and the Muslim countries where it is a problem are African.

FGM is happening in America. This is just an example. How much of this is going on that doesn't get caught? It is a cultural thing and it is demonstrably abhorrent. It is not bigotry to point out the depravity inherent within the culture of a group.
