Ole Miss didn't have their heads in their backsides. They had both hands in a tub of kitty litter trying to cover up the stench and tootsie rolls that kept drawing attention in Hugh Freeze's sand box. Nutt just refused to get blamed for it and I can't blame him.

The A.D. didn't do proactive searches of Freeze's phone records in the day after Nutt made the undeleted escort call public. The A.D. already knew where those multiple phones had been calling since he probably had to handle the bills. He's just changing his tune and rolling over on Hugh now to save his own hide.

About all that can be said for Ole Miss is that they need to clean house right up to the president and get ready to be the West Division's doormat for quite some time.

Their new response is going to be, "Well we're no Baylor or Penn State!" That's about all of the face saving they can do now.

That's a funny notion to be sure. But truly if Ole Miss hired Kiffin it would add a whole new dimension to the sleaze they are presently experiencing. You would move from the Holy facade kind of sleaze to the narcissistic and totally unholy version of sleaze. I just don't see that happening unless they have truly lost their way at Ole Miss.

If it were me I would call Chip Kelly. That type of offense in the west could cause trouble. While I don't think they would win a NC or even the SEC I think they could over come some of the recruiting issues that are coming. It's an offense that takes less talented players and gives them a shot against better competition. It's consistent against lower talent teams but Auburn, LSU and Alabama would shut it down most of the time. I think it could keep them regular in bowl games.

I don't know, maybe it would be a great time for them to realign with the ACC. You can plant your flag in Mississippi and gain access to Memphis. That would make room for Texas, Oklahoma and either OSU or TTU, and L.S.U. vs Ole Miss could become yet another year end ACC vs SEC match up.

Heck it might even permit Texas to have a route to be contiguous with the ACC. Just add Tulane and ignore that little foot on Alabama and you are there. Then Texas and Texas Tech can join with you guys along with Ole Miss and Tulane and we can add Oklahoma and Oklahoma State with Kansas and stop at 16.

Hotty Toddy and oh so snotty would fit right in with UNC and Duke.

If Auburn agrees to join the ACC as #15, I guess Ole Miss would be an acceptable #16... That frees up the SEC to grab 4 teams from the Big XII, and everybody wins. (I guess?)

I'd call Chip Kelly too, but I wouldn't touch that with a 10 foot pole if I was Kelly. He could get a much better job even if the circumstances were ideal for Ole Miss. Remember as well that the NCAA isn't done with OM yet.
