College Sports Madness Top 144 - Shockit - 07-18-2017 02:11 PM
Here is an interesting discussion. Here is a poll that probably is questionable in their knowledge of college basketball. Memphis showed up at #119. What are your predictions for the AAC on who will be missing and who will be the Top 10, 20, etc.? I don't know the AAC yet as much as I will later, so my predictions may be way off base.
Top 10 WSU
Top 20 Cincinnati
Top 30 SMU and UCF
Top 50 Houston and UCONN
Top 50-75 Tulsa and Temple
#119 Memphis
Will ECU, USF, and Tulane miss the poll or are they Top 115?

Top 10: WSU
Top 15: Cincy - and I still think this is too low. I would have Cincy top 10 slightly ahead of WSU.
Top 30: SMU
Top 40: UCF and Temple - Temple is the team most are overlooking. I think they have the talent to finish in the top 5 of the conference.
Top 50: Houston and UConn
Top 100: Tulsa
#119 Memphis - I have no idea what to make of Memphis.
I think Tulane will be much improved because we all know Dunleavy can coach. They will win a couple of games against the top half of our conference this year.

Memphis is going to be awful. We will probably have our first losing record since 1999-2000 and only our 3rd in the last 37 years.

sigh. I dont know. He should be but he has a lot left on his contract and we just paid to get rid of Pastner. I find it hard that we will be paying 3 coaches.

I wouldn't bail on him right away if that happens. I think you gotta give him a few years. The man has a proven track record of turning programs around.

I agree with you about giving him time if he had shown any willingness to do what is necessary to win at Memphis.
He's basically not recruited the city hard other than Alex Lomax.
He ran off the Lawsons. Which if you think that is good then fine. I disagree considering they were our two best players. Their cousin, DJ Jefferies is the 11th ranked player in the Class of 19. Their younger brother, Chandler Lawson, is a top 20 player in 2019. AND their youngest brother, Jonathan Lawson, is a Top 10 player in 2021.
They will probably all wind up at Kansas now and win national titles. LOL
But thats cool. We are getting top 50 juco players and getting turned down by Division 2 players.

WSU is recruiting Tyler Harris very hard. From everything I've read it sounds like us and Iowa State are his top 2, with him leaning slightly towards Iowa State.

Our 2018 class will be very small but we are in a couple of top 75 players. One we have a very good shot at landing.
