Given the way in which Memphis is going, it may very well be one by then.

WTF..not a UCONN home game?

Excellent decision. Memphis has a first class arena, excellent college basketball fans, good eats and fun places to visit for a long weekend trip.

The only problem with Memphis is an empty arena. I have a feeling they will be bad for at least two more seasons. Someone on the main board had the idea of giving home games to the higher seeds and only playing the final four in a designated place. I think this is a good idea since the fan bases in this league do not travel and the ones that travel are saving their money and vacation time for the Ncaa tournament.

Not an awful idea, but the problem there is that - in order to make any plans - you'd have to be somewhat sure that your team would make it into the final four.

If you're going to have an AAC city host a tournament, I think Memphis is the best bet.

I feel if anywhere , Memphis has the best chance of pulling in fans from other cities. Wichita , SMU, Cincinnati , Tulsa should have decent to good representation in Fed Ex.

Thats not happening in Hartford or Orlando

Yes, this begs the question, does Tubby Smith have one more rebuild in his bag of tricks? While I don't think he's a Hall of Fame coach, he does have a national championship and has usually produced very competitive teams. Let's see what he can do in the next recruiting cycle. He may have, at minimum, a team that could get on a roll in March in front of their hometown fans.

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with you, but your statement got me thinking. What makes a hall of fame coach? Coaches Krzyzewski and Boeheim are pretty much a given. But what about coaches like Huggins that never win a national championship. Do they qualify based upon number of wins and conference championships? What defines a hall of fame coach for NC2A basketball?

Everyone's opinions should be interesting.

Hopefully. It is in our best interest to have a strong Memphis. I am a little pessimistic, since the Memphis rebuild looks a lot like Micks rebuild(the John Williamson days). There is basically a total roster turnover and the replacements are jucos and last chance guys.

Sure would be nice for uc to host in 2020 with the new arena.

From Kelly Hines twitter. She covers Tulsa apparently.

Memphis' FedExForum will host the 2019 @American_MBB championship. The 2020-22 sites will be announced in the coming weeks. #TulsaMBB
