“Premier League Pass” will be launched on NBC Sports Gold for the 2017-18 season.
Exclusive access to 130 Premier League games will now be available via NBC Sports Gold to stream live and on-demand via desktop, mobile, tablets and connected TV devices.
What does this mean?
NBC Sports Group will still present the same TV offering with up to 250 Premier League matches featured in the 2017-18 season on NBC, NBCSN and CNBC as well as live online at NBCSports.com.
Marquee matches such as the Manchester Derby, North London Derby, and Merseyside Derby will remain on NBC and NBCSN, as will the main games in each match window, while all of the other linear games in that TV window will now be available on NBC Sports Gold. Plus, full match replays will also now be available exclusively via NBC Sports Gold.
Americans had better coverage and access to English Premier League Soccer games than the British did for the past few seasons. Before, almost all games could be streamed for replay. All could be watched live on TV or streamed with just a simple passcode from your cable or satellite provider.
Now the package of not so watched games that don't make the prime spots on NBC or NBCSN can only be viewed on a $50/season subscription service.
Just something to think about as we move further towards subscription based streaming.
As a reminder, here is what Amazon plans on doing with its targeted adds during its streaming of NFL games:
Amazon initially paid $50 million in April to the NFL for the rights to stream the 10 Thursday night games.
Amazon will be able to sell up to 10 30-second ad spots for each streamed game. Ads will run on the live stream, while local ads will appear on network TV. As a part of its ad package, Amazon has offered to run ads for buyers on its e-commerce website. Live-streamed games will be available to Amazon Prime subscribers.

Murr, I'm not sure anyone other than you and me will care about losing EPL coverage as far as this board goes.
But yeah, this kind of stinks. I cheer for Tottenham and I'm glad they've made some strides lately so the TV coverage will likely be better going forward...at least for a few years.

I was just pointing out changes in service as subscription revenues decline.
Tottenham HotSpurs has been one of those clubs that get on fire every couple of seasons but a Chelsea or someone else with a much deeper bench just lights the wins column on fire leaving Hotspurs in second.

Ouch! According to NFL.com, the Sunday Ticket costs $50 PER MONTH, and that's if you pre-pay for 2 years! So we're talking $600 / year! Definitely prices many fans right out of the market.

Ouch. $50/month during football season or just the months of the regular season? I know they charge extra for high definition
