Yep, we now have about 20 on the roster. It's crazy what's happening here.

.
I think it is 17 actually and many think Justin will stay with football. Basically a whole new team with Parris and McGee the only ones with limited playing time last fall.

WKU basketball is like a red snowman. It just keeps getting bigger and bigger. Someone is going to throw a magic tophat on top and then they'll cause all sorts of problems for the neighborhood.

Thumpety thump thump, look at toppers go

I don't get the "red snowman" reference. I'm sure it refers to something recognizable to any normally tuned-in person, but I'm not one of those.

The allusion that I would use for WKU mbb is the 70's horror flicks "The Blob". It was big, ugly, inexplicable and seemingly unstoppable. It even looked a bit like their butt-ugly mascot.

(And, yes, I am awed by what they've done this off season.)

What Stansbury has done on the recruiting trail is beyond incredible. Especially at a school in our conference. Doesn't mean squat as far as predicting actual wins but the talent lever (on paper) is better than I've ever seen.

This guy didn't get a lot of clock at Kansas but he was a big time recruit out of high school and is one hella late addition to help provide depth on the front line.

I was not impressed at all with his coaching job this last year. He acted afraid of his 3 graduate transfers. Would not make them play defense. The excuse makers said he couldn't do anything because he couldn't discipline all of them at the same time because there was no backup players. My argument is he could have disciplined them one at a time until they learned to play dee. He also continued on with the worst experiment I've ever seen at point god in my entire life. Very inflexible as a coach.

His teams at Ms State did play defense so I'm hoping that with this influx of talent they'll be more like his teams at Ms State rather than what he did last year.

We actually have 16 on the roster right now including Justin Johnson who everyone knows is going football. So that actually drops it to 15. One of the incoming freshman looks like he will have to sit out a year because of NCAA clearinghouse reasons and another player is also not going to be returning. So with the Coleby addition we are now at the NCAA mandated 13 limit.

Rumor of one more talented late addition.Just a possibility.

Wait, is Justin Johnson giving up on basketball or trying to play both?

A little of both. He got hurt in football Sping practice, so for now he is joining the football team and then when be added to the basketball team after football season. I think he is trying to follow the footsteps of George fant

Word is he will come back to basketball team as a walk-on after the bowl game. Though I will believe that when I see it. I think he is all in on football for the next two years.

And he may not be the only basketball player switching over to football for this season too.

Stansbury is doing one of two things..

1. not cheating

2. been cheating going on 20+ years and not one peeps or look from the NCAA.

I'm OK with either because if it's #2 he damnnnnnnnnnnn good. That's a long time of cheating and getting away with it.

RE: Kansas graduate transfer picks WKU - monarx - 06-12-2017 03:43 PM

I am in awe of how well this guy can recruit. If he sucks as a coach, he should still win plenty of games on raw talent alone. Serious question here: Does anyone have an idea of what his recruiting pitch is? What does he say or do that no other coach at this level does that makes him successful... assuming he's not cheating.

RE: Kansas graduate transfer picks WKU - Jack Bauer - 06-12-2017 03:48 PM

Let's be real... there isn't enough money in the athletic dpt or folks around to be cheating compared to the p5 folks. I wish I knew his shtick I'd learn it and go do it somewhere else and make a ton of money

Just for the record, Rick was suspended while coaching Austin Peay. AP initiated an investigation into their staff and Rick got caught.

I have read some Missy State people that have claimed that Rick was cheating and he quit before he was punished, but there isn't proof of that. But, to claim Rick has never been caught cheating is false.

I never said that. What I said was he hasn't in 20+ years or should I say 26 years of being a asst at Miss St or head coach other than the 2 years at A&M

As for quitting at Miss St before getting punish.....

bull**** when has the NCAA cared about a coach still being at a school to file charges on them? They don't.
