I like the original version. It used to be painted on a bridge over US-49. The edges on the horizontal lines aren't clipped off in that version.

I actually have a cap with that original logo on it in my closet right now. Feel free to make an offer.

Bower had those caps specially made that year, in fact. IIRC, it was because the sideline caps The Game provided that season had "Mississippi" spelled out in full on them, and he didn't like it because he really wanted to push the "Southern Miss" moniker.
