College basketball: Committee discusses new start date for season - CrimsonPhantom - 04-19-2017 04:21 PM Quote:To decompress the schedule and generate more excitement with the beginning of the basketball regular season, the Division I Men’s Basketball Oversight Committee discussed a new start date for the sport. http://www.ncaa.com/news/basketball-men/article/2017-04-19/college-basketball-committee-discusses-new-start-date-season?cid=ncaammsocial_tw_sf71570351 RE: College basketball: Committee discusses new start date for season - RunnerBall - 04-19-2017 04:47 PM "Many believe it can create a less compressed schedule, particularly for nonconference games, which they believe would benefit student-athlete well-being by providing more time for rest and recovery." I dont think three days is really going to solve the above, but some other good points mentioned. I wonder if that committee will also discuss any of the experimental rules that were in the NIT this year. RE: College basketball: Committee discusses new start date for season - CrimsonPhantom - 04-19-2017 04:52 PM I want quarters! RE: College basketball: Committee discusses new start date for season - gleadley - 04-19-2017 04:54 PM Can we get a 24 second shot clock, though? RE: College basketball: Committee discusses new start date for season - Clarity - 04-19-2017 04:57 PM I don't want a 24 second shot clock. That will favor the bigger teams even more. People already complain about the college game being sloppy enough. RE: College basketball: Committee discusses new start date for season - CrimsonPhantom - 04-19-2017 05:26 PM The shot clock is fine where it is. This is not the NBA! RE: College basketball: Committee discusses new start date for season - Clarity - 04-19-2017 05:35 PM I also hated the NIT rules. The one and one is unique to college basketball and needs to stay. As long as the game is halves the fouling is fine the way it is. |
