If there are any more games that you think should happen every year post them While this looks like a self-serving post by a UMass fan, it makes perfectly good sense on a lot of levels for these three schools to play an annual round robin. They represent 100% of the FBS schools in the entire New England region. They should eventually produce the biggest annual attendance for all of them (excluding the occasional home game against Notre Dame). I didn't miss the Big Ten being off ND's schedule completely in 2015. It did not diminish anything in my world. Why should ND play a Big Ten East team annually? Geography? The Big Ten always dictated that those games should be in early September or not at all. The hell with them. P.S. So, the posters here think that annual ND games against Michigan, Alabama and BYU should be mandated. That would clog up the schedule with Southern Cal, Stanford and Navy on tap every year along with 5 ACC games. Seems to be a lot of interest in ND games in this thread. It is the second longest series in the FBS. Unfortunately nobody cares What I mean by "caring" is that we are talking about a series that has been played every year since 1888, yet if you talk to a non-alum of either school who lives outside of southwest Ohio they wouldn't even know the two schools have ever played one another. It doesn't help that whenever the game is played in Oxford, it is relegated to ESPN 3. As for this coming season, it would be nice for you guys to finally win this game after 12 years. The series is getting stale as hell. Tuberville tried the best he could to take UC football to the early 90s, but luckily the university has moved on and the train is back in motion. Like back when we were both in the yankee conference. ( IK this is a football related thread) RE: Annual Football Series that Should Happen - miko33 - 04-18-2017 02:25 PM Just noticed something. Wake vs Duke makes more sense. I think ECU vs ASU could become a great rivalry game. Still, it seems ECU would want to have an AAC rivalry game on that weekend. Who is ECU's AAC arch rival? I would say UCF but it seems like USF/UCF would play that weekend. ECU doesn't have a true conference rival IMHO. We were mostly all left behind's / Eastern independent or "newish FBS programs" (USF/UCF). I agree with you on App State. I honestly believe ECU and App should play every season. We've played App State more times than anybody other current FBS team. http://www.winsipedia.com/east-carolina App - 41 games (12-19 App, mostly at FCS level) USM - 39 games (12-27 USM, they're just REALLY had our number for some reason) NCSU - 29 games (13-16 NCSU) ^^^ These 3 games need to be on a every other or 3rd year rotation probably. Everybody else is a warm body IMHO. I've never felt a real "rivalry" with UCF, it only exists online. I don't know a single UCF grad. |
