Leon Allen - Psychored - 03-21-2017 02:16 PM

Cleared for spring praqctice!! COGSCOGSCOGS

RE: Leon Allen - Eagleholic - 03-21-2017 02:30 PM

Good for that young man! Bad for the rest of CUSA.

RE: Leon Allen - LouisvilleHilltopper - 03-21-2017 02:44 PM

Expect to see a lot more running from the Tops this year. Allen, Ferby, Baker, and Trigg...all have a decent amount of experience and plenty of athletic ability.

RE: Leon Allen - ODUCoach - 03-21-2017 02:46 PM

Good for him, but not good for those who are going to have to watch the video of his injury every time the announcers talk about him.

RE: Leon Allen - WKUFan518 - 03-21-2017 02:55 PM

I would take a 75% Leon Allen, would be a great story to see him back on the field being productive after that horrific knee injury he suffered....

I'd hope they'd have more sense than ever showing that in a game. I understand why they showed it during the La Tech game. Trying to see why he was carted off. But that's be simply macabre to show it during games this year if he's back.

I truly hope he is back. The first year after the injury I kept hearing not much hope for him being back, that rehab was not going well for whatever reason. Rehab is usually on the person. Nobody but you can do it for you.

But after this season I started hearing he might be back with clearance. If he's back to what he was it'll be a hella gift to fall into Sanford's hands in his first year. I watch a lot of the practices and after practice the guys yank the shoulder pads off. Saw Leon next to Ferby who is a big man. But Ferby was a redshirt freshman at the time. He looked like a big kid. Leon looked like a very bad man. Dude is cut. If his knee is back I'm thrilled for him and us. This was the preseason before the injury.

Not dogging Doughty but he hung him out on that throw. If that was a normal in the chest throw that injury probably never happens. Doughty threw the screen high and Leon had to go up for it. Hit wasn't dirty. Just into a bad spot.

RE: Leon Allen - banker - 03-21-2017 07:25 PM

Is he actually going to be older than Doughty when he leaves WKU? He was born March 11, 1993 meaning he's already 24 years old. When they say "a man among boys" it's literal with Allen.

RE: Leon Allen - Franko - 03-21-2017 08:23 PM

This is good news for the Leon and WKU. If he is anything close to what he was in 2015 should be a beast.

It'll be his sixth year so yes. My son was 18 when he started college. Would have been 24 if it took him 6 years. Fortunately for me he finished in 4. Four years cost plenty enough.

Little Stockstill will be 24 at the beginning of his senior year. Same as Doughty was his senior year.

He was a man among boys when he got hurt as a junior. I can't imagine a true freshman or even a redshirt freshman in the defensive backfield trying to take him down in the open field.

I alluded to Ferby earlier saying he looked like a big kid 2 years ago. The last time I saw him he'd shed some of that high school soft weight and looked pretty beastly himself. He's been work brittle since he's been here though. If we have him healthy and Leon and add in speedy Baker we should be tough totin' the rock.

That's a lot of ifs though as we all know.

Allen will be 25 when he leaves college (24 and 9 months if he leaves after the fall semester). That will make him older than the average NFL RB.

You better get some tacklers into Huntington then.

Here we go again with the age thing...

It's a Marshall fan. After what we've done to them the last three years you can't blame them for hating. This is the school that takes more chances on Florida kids than Steve Spurrier and Bobby Bowden on a drunken binge. But Western must be getting some kind of unfair advantage for us to own them. You have to look at it from their shoes. Or bare feet if it applies. 04-cheers

Beed, I saw a tweet from the S&C coach who listed the players who had done the best in various strength categories. Leon was second on the team in Squats, behind one of our linemen. That says a lot about the strength in his legs. BTW, Duncan, a QB, was second in bench press! 04-rock

I think he will put some impressive numbers next year and get drafted

You listen to Sanford's presser on the 21st? Talk about Leon in the tug of war battles?
