Madness Thread - BeerCat - 03-14-2017 07:29 AM

It starts tonight! I figured we could have a thread for the games separate from the projections etc.

I'm pretty excited this year because I really think UC can make a run. I'm even excited to watch tonight to see our opponent.

Not much compares to this Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday for me. Especially since the Bearcats are in and pretty damn good. Remember it wasn't too long ago that UC had no shot at the Tourney. Let's all enjoy it!

I've actually thought about driving to Dayton to catch these games tonight. Might scratch the itch since I blocked out Thursday and Friday to be able to drive to see UC play...that was before I found out the drive would be 2,300 miles each way.

I know the committee already has a ton of seeding rules to follow, but it would be nice if they made a rule that teams couldn't more than X miles in back-to-back seasons or more than X times in a 3 year period (And maybe it is just west coast teams can't come all the way East and vice-versa). Should be some sort of reward for consistently making the tourney. This shouldn't be that big a deal with the pod system. Maybe a couple more teams travel in a given year, but that beats penalizing the same team over and over.

Mick has a great point that the parents of his players and fans don't get a fair chance to see their kids/team play. 3 of 4 years over 2,000 miles and $1,000 plane ticket away. Honestly there aren't that many teams that don't get protected seeds that you have to worry about this for. I believe UC would be the only team this season.

As I said in the other thread, I'd rather be in x's 11/6 matchup in Orlando than our 6/11 3 time zones away.

Let's just head to Vegas. We can pay for the trip and more!

A different form of the madness . Trying to watch games when you don't have a "Tru TV" subscription on your Sling account. It seems to be impossible without going to one of those European sites that try to download a bunch of malware and stuff to your PC.

I actually would not mind paying some bucks to the NCAA site if I could just watch the games I wanted.

How did we get stuck on Tru TV anyway? Do they actually broadcast other than at NCAA tournament time? (Did Mick make the "powers that be" angry again???)

RE: Madness Thread - BearcatnKY - 03-14-2017 07:53 PM

Have to foul there and extend the game.

RE: Madness Thread - doss2 - 03-14-2017 07:53 PM

Mt. St. Mary wins by 1 over UNO

You can get the March Madness Live app and watch.

Tru and all the NCAA game channels are on Playstation Vue. If you haven't tried it take a 30 day trial for the tournament.

I can't help but feel like it's gonna take us a half to get to game speed on Friday.

If that happens it will be too late. Just can't come out tight.

RE: Madness Thread - Bearcats#1 - 03-14-2017 08:35 PM

we really really need Troy and KJ.

What a time for both or even ONE of them to get hot.

we also need Washington to play and not sit on the bench in foul trouble the entire first half

RE: Madness Thread - Bearcats#1 - 03-14-2017 08:36 PM

lol this Wake/Kstate game is boring. So far, I'm not too concerned about either one of them.

Would you say both teams are dumpster juice?

RE: Madness Thread - rtaylor - 03-14-2017 08:45 PM

Both teams look pretty solid to me.
