Potential coaches for SU thread - SeattleVandals - 03-13-2017 08:45 PM

List of potential HC candidates for Seattle U:

Trent Johnson (Franklin HS alum, coached at Nevada, Stanford, LSU, TCU. Former WAC coach of the year (2003) and Pac 10 coach of the year.)

Ken Bone (former Portland State and Washington State coach, current Gonzaga assistant.)

Brandon Roy (current Nathan Hale HS coach with deep ties to area. Would help recruiting locally and get fans interested. Boom or bust hire.)

Tony Dominguez (current Western Washington head coach, turned Vikings into one of the best D2 programs nationally)

Jason Terry (Franklin HS alum and long time NBA vet. Has interest in coaching after interviewing for UAB job last year)

Curtis Allen (young 35 year old coach who played at Wilson HS in Tacoma and at UW, current assistant at Washington State)

Tim LaComb (BYU associate head coach, assistant 2010-15 and Director of operations 2007-2010)

John Rillie (Boise State assistant since 2010, young coach who played JUCO ball in Tacoma and 3 years at Gonzaga in the mid 90

Brad Jackson, current UW assistant after 27 years at D2 Western WA where he won a national title in 2012. Career record of 518-279. Has been at UW since 2012, not sure why he out of nowhere became an assistant after 27 seasons but maybe a D1 HC would interest him

Ideas from Dave Grosby:

Will Conroy (young coach who played at UW and local/national power Garfield HS, just a few blocks from SU campus. Currently an assistant for 2 years under Romar).

Jim Hayford (Eastern Washington head coach, not sure he would leave for SU)

If I'm the AD, zero chance the hire isn't one of Trent/Bone/Brandon Roy.

Still no word or even rumors out there about who SU is targeting and interviewing. Very frustrating we have no beat writer or any local media person covering program regularly

SU was pretty quiet about the AD transition. They could do the same with a new HC.

Seattle U play by play and Seattle media personality Dave Grosby on coaching search: "I have no info" and "its on going"

Thats the most information thats been made public since Dollar was fired. I hate this hush hush around the search. There is 0 info out there.
