ACC Championship Thread - TexanMark - 03-07-2017 02:40 PM

Well I figure I'll start it off...Clemson won the first ever tournament game in NYC. Congrats...if you win two more...I think you are in...if not it should be the NIT. Who knows...Cuse, GTech, and Wake could be joining you.

Hard to size the crowd due to arena lighting...but I imagine around 4k.

Crowds will get bigger as the teams with bigger fan bases make it into NY. A UNC family was seen leaving lunch at Bojangles somewhere off I-95 on their way to NYC.

BC will be an NIT team next year...so young. Wonder if they add a grad transfer?

Manning has done a really nice job with Wake...glad to see him recover.

Wake-BC in a pretty competitive game in 2nd half...I think Wake will win.

Wake winning probably gives every school a few hundred thousand over 6 years. It is all about the units.

BC basketball is so bad I just don't understand how?

I won't make fun of anybody who braves the hell on Earth that is I-95 from Richmond, VA on up. Even if they have a mullet. Even if they have a family of mullets. Nobody deserves to suffer through that many miles of that horrible road.

Agreed...glad I can cut up through Charlotte and hook up with I-81 to Upstate NY.

Wake about to closeout with a win versus BC...this should assure Wake of a bid.

Attendance was pretty crappy in the first set...can't imagine more than 5k in there. Will it get better tonight? Gotta think so...MSG is much more accessible arena.

I do rather enjoy the pre-roll video Raycom uses. The blue "ACC Network Production" splash that lasts about 15 seconds.

GT please make a free throw.

RE: ACC Championship Thread - TexanMark - 03-07-2017 08:01 PM

If GTech wins 2...are they in?

RE: ACC Championship Thread - georgia_tech_swagger - 03-07-2017 08:25 PM

How good would GT be with just an average ACC roster?

Looks like they won't even win tonight, but there's NO WAY they'd win against Virginia. That's a terrible matchup for them. And honestly, the NIT is probably better for them anyway. They need as many games as possible to try to coach up the not-so-great talent pool. And in the NCAAT no way would they get further than two games. The NIT? They might make it to the semifinals if they are seeded to play at home until then.

RE: ACC Championship Thread - TexanMark - 03-07-2017 09:30 PM

Gtech I predict will receive a 2 seed in the NIT

RE: ACC Championship Thread - TexanMark - 03-08-2017 02:10 PM

Typical Cuse ACC Tourney First Round loss...

Not sure they get a spot...if they do...they are a 12 seed...and need some help

2-11 in road/neutral site games, yuck. If they get in due to their name they should be in one of the first round/play-in games fa sho.

Well we are hurting due to the sanctions from helping a Brazilian kid with his term paper...and a few kids working at a local YMCA...It sucks...but we'll recover.

03-lmfao I wouldn't expect anything different from you.

Wake goes down...joins Cuse on the bubble.

Pitt/UVA first team to 55 wins.

RE: ACC Championship Thread - H.U.S.T.L.E. - 03-09-2017 09:23 PM

Sheesh. I'm not one to complain about officiating all that often, but dang, the refs eating the whistle when Allen might have had the chance to cut the lead to 3 around 30 seconds left was huge.

Proud of this VT team though. Only 7 guys are playing at this point due to injuries and we're hopefully gonna go dancing!
