RE: Men's Basketball All-ACC Teams - ken d - 03-02-2017 11:20 AM I wonder how many players majoring in Sports Administration didn't make this list. And why? Congratulations to Davon Reed for being named the 2017 Skip Prosser Award winner, which is given to the top scholar-athlete in @accmbb. -- @MiamiHurricanes DEGREE OF DIFFICULTY RE: Men's Basketball All-ACC Teams - TerryD - 03-02-2017 05:23 PM TJ Gibbs is a freshman at ND. All freshmen (athletes and non-athletes) at ND have to take the same curriculum, called First Year of Studies. By the end of spring semester in your first year, you must complete: 1 University Seminar 1 Writing and Rhetoric course 2 semesters of mathematics 2 semesters of a science or foreign language 2 courses in the Moreau First Year Experience 1 additional University Requirement 2 program requirements or electives http://firstyear.nd.edu/incoming-students/first-year-requirements/ So, that is why he is "undecided". Rex Pflueger is a sophomore, he better make up his mind fast... In most of the schools I've had experience with, Psych could be a rigorous major if you wanted it to be. It could also be the easy way to a degree if you were an indifferent student. That describes one of my nieces who went to UNC. But that was before you could choose a major with the word "Studies" in it for an even easier option. There are different tracks in Psych that could be more or less rigorous. Depends how much actual biology you want to thrown in. But in my experience, a neuropsych or biopsych course offered by a neuroscience/biology department or program compared to one offered by a psychology department is a night and day difference. Also true at the graduate level. All degrees (BS or PhD) are not achieved equally. Nope...the college of Visual and Performing Arts also has a comm major. If you can't get into Newhouse you can get into VPA. http://vpa.syr.edu/ RE: Men's Basketball All-ACC Teams - nzmorange - 03-04-2017 10:46 AM (03-03-2017 10:30 AM)ken d Wrote:(03-02-2017 05:53 PM)TexanMark Wrote:(03-01-2017 04:21 PM)nzmorange Wrote: To be fair to Tyler, comm at SU isn't comm at 99.9999% of other schools. Especially at Carolina, where there are 3 women for every 2 men. She got hers when she went to NC State's School of Design for her grad work. It's about the opposite there. Now she's an artist, but not a starving one.
