WAC Baseball 2017 - RunnerBall - 02-18-2017 10:01 PM

Ok, I'll start this off. After a few rainouts, the conference has begun. CSUB topped Utah in the opener. GCU beat OK St.

After a one game peek, which admittedly isn't much, I'm thinking the 'Runners may have some relief pitching this year. Lots of new faves on the 'Runners. Several new starters.

Let the 2017 campaign, 'The Road to Mesa' begin! Best wishes to all! Here's to a strong WAC!

Don't look now, but GCU Baseball just took 2 of 3 from #22 Oklahoma State.

I'm interested in their season being that they play 5 opponents the Lopes have on their own schedule.

GCU had the opportunity for the sweep, but blew it last night by trying to be too aggressive on the base paths when they were down one run with no outs.

RE: WAC Baseball 2017 - SJHornet - 02-24-2017 02:44 AM

Jason Dillon just threw Sacramento State's first no-hitter as a division one program. We beat Northern Kentucky 2-0. We're off to a pretty good start. Took 2 out of 3 against Washington State to begin the season, and followed it up with a no no.

Yah, congrats. Hoping the WAC will show improvement this year along the lines of how basketball has done.

Sac State rolls 11th ranked UDub 7-1 tonight. Dillon follows up last weeks no-no with 6 innings of 1 hit ball.

When did NMSU redo their stadium? It looks really good now! I went to a game there ten years ago and let's just say it looked nothing like it does now.

RE: WAC Baseball 2017 - RunnerBall - 03-15-2017 05:42 PM

'Runners series LAST weekend with Creighton cancelled due to cold/icy weather in Omaha. Not sure how RPI will be affected really, if that might matter. Too bad it couldn't be salvaged....WX in Bako was perfect that weekend...high 70s.

I hope we live up to our record during conference play. We've kinda had a cupcake schedule.

RE: WAC Baseball 2017 - SDHornet - 03-20-2017 08:01 PM

Hornets had a hot start but IMO have under performed since then with a heavy home schedule. Yeah we snagged the occasional win against P5 programs but we needed to see series wins. It'll be interesting to see how WAC play goes.

I know that the weather has been playing havoc with their schedule.

Hornets pulled off another late rally Tuesday night for the 3-2 road win at Wichita State. The Shockers were undefeated at home until then.
