Alright someone explain that mess of a game by supposedly HOF Tubby - Penny Lane - 02-16-2017 11:15 PM
Getting outcoached every game. Blows huge leads. Gives up huge runs.
Martin can NOT run a half court O-yet TS allows him to stand 25 ft from basket and pound dribble EVERY half court possession.
And what's up with Martin talking trash EVERY play but can't back up s***. Bench him. Season over anyway.
Allows horrible shot selection without consequences
Doesn't know when to use a TO.
Zone D gave them lead. He stuck with it.
We shoot with under 3 seconds more than any team I've seen-see Martin above
Randall was hot-when was his last shot?
Effort is NOT there-tired of hearing that BS. Watch the guys make cuts-best indicator of effort. Lazy most nights.
I'm sick of watching the same offense and defense since game one. Not ANY ADJUSTMENTS!
I'm sick of watching this lazy, cocky team.
This is one of my least favorite Tiger Teams and in game coaching staffs I can remember. Why so many stay away.

You can and will blame the coach but we are just not very good. Our guard play was as bad as it gets at D1. No outside threat which really limits our slashers because teams just pack it in. We we made some outside shots, we built a lead. When we couldn't get outside shots to drop, UCONN won the game. Its really not very complicated. You can talk about time outs, not enough subs, not changing defenses now.

I really miss watching a team that runs anything resembling an offense. After surviving Pastner I was happy at the beginning of the season to see much better ball movement, but by December this team regressed. No ball movement, just dribbling for 25 seconds and chucking up some crap. Not much movement off the ball. I just don't understand how a Hall of Fame candidate coach doesn't have some go to offensive plays he can call up when we go in these scoring droughts. We don't go through droughts because we miss shots, but because we take horrible, last second shots. Tubby is definitely mailing it in, falls asleep during the games, never calls time outs, doesn't get his guys fired up. The only thing we can hope for is he's just mailing it in this season rather than his final coaching stop here at Memphis.

Go watch some lower level D1 teams. They have **** guards but at least run some plays. Our guards do one of two things, either dribble around the perimeter for 25 seconds and then panic, or get it to the wing and then stare at Dedric for about 8 seconds while he tries to get open and then panic when they can't get it to him. UConn and Temple are not defensive juggernauts, there is no excuse for us going through these scoring droughts. Poor in game coaching.

We scored ONCE IN LAST 5 MINUTES!!!! He still let Martin pound dribble the ball while the other guys stand around. That's our half court offense. Don't blame that on the players.
This team has regressed seriously since win at Houston. I know there is dissension on team from talking to current player.
And your Pastner "shots didn't fall" crap won't cut it with either side on this board.

This team didnt suddenly regress....opponents figured out that if you pack the paint and take Dedric out of the game, no one else on the team can consistently make enough plays or hit enough shots to win.
I don't care what "plays" you run, if the defense has 5 guys with a foot in the paint to stop all drives and the athletes to recover to challenge mediocre shooting, this is what you will see.

Our guards are not all league but they are better than average and average teams are kicking our guards asses. Maybe because we are running same sets as we did in November without ANY adjustments??

It's not Tubbys program. It's ours. And I will try to help keep it prominent for as long as I can. Tubby was hired as a place holder. That's all he is and doing.
