AAC schools considering jumping to other G5 conferences - brovol - 12-20-2016 09:45 PM

After another season of being beat badly by teams from better G5 conferences, several AAC schools are rumored to be looking to leave the AAC in favor of joining any of the several better G5 conferences. Growing concern over the AAC being forced by the NCAA to join the FCS, it appears those institutions are getting out while they can.

For a short time, the AAC seemed to be an up and coming conference, but has really fallen on hard times, and didn't land well. Sad, very sad.

In other news......

The Sun Belt Conference would be happy to have ECU. Might take some convincing of the western schools. But I think we got the votes ready to move.

The SBC is full. We don't need any more.

You make a compelling argument. Agreed, the state of NC is covered.

I disagree. We need the Memphis Tiggers in the Sunbelt. That way TX St would have someone they can smack around.

I think ECU would have had a similar record in the SBC this year. That tells you two things, level of play has picked up, and ECU was flat out terrible this year.

You sure? You're about to kick out Idaho and NMSU. Might want someone to replace them. Although not sure what good options are out there... SMU and Tulane might be easy opponents, although I'm not sure even ULL and ULM would bring themselves down to sharing a conference with Tulane..

You should complain about it on the internet. That'll show those popular kids.

No effing way ULM would want the scrub Tulane in the conference.

Like I said, if NC wasn't already saturated ECU would be an option. SBC needs to pick up a Tennessee school but these Memphis guys just aren't up to snuff. Maybe Navy? But Maryland kinda sucks to visit and I'd skip those away games.

That's clever, did you think of that one yourself or is there a panel of la tech grads working overtime to help you overcome your internet insult shortcomings?

We have our one FCS team already next year. Maybe we can pick you guys up in 2018?

No, we actually have the intelligence to understand when someone is projecting. To accuse others of doing what you and yours are doing yourselves is classic.

If these bowl games are anything to judge by you have a whole schedule of FCS teams

I hate LaTech. Always will. Goes back a long way with us playing them. But they never refused to shake our hands at mid-field. Best you UCF fans go find some self respect and then come talk smack.
