MW Digital Network views for Fall Sports 2016 - MWC Tex - 12-05-2016 07:36 PM

With the fall sports wrapped up, here is the results from my on going tally of the events for each sport.

Cross Country Championship:
5,323 views. 500 less than last year.

Women's Soccer: 99 games
Total Views: 101,649
Avg/game: 1,093

A big increase from last year of 81,255 total views (113 games) and a average of 707/game.

Women's Volleyball: 138 games
Total Views: 153,220
Avg/game: 1,110
A 100% increase over last years 79,159 total views (140 games) and 565 ave/game.

Note: Largest viewership game was 35,886 views (Nebraska vs New Mexico). Nebraska fans support their volleyball very well and tuned in on the MWDN for this game.

Football: (only MWDN games....Root games are blacked out on the MWDN in the Root area)
Total Views: 254,448 (10 games)
Avg/game: 25,445
A significant increase from last year of 190,768 (9 games) and a average of 21,196/game.
Largest Views: 52,424 (UTSA vs CSU) (Also, a new record)

Overall, it looks like it was the best year yet for the MWDN for the fall sports and that bodes well for the conference to start making money from the MWDN.

Bolded are updated numbers as I went back to review numbers and found there were more viewers that first reported due to people going back to re-watch games in the archive section. Some are significant for example it add another 1500 views to the UTSA vs CSU game. Which means a ad was played pre-roll for any additional 1500 people.

Did a final overall tally for MWDN events from 2015 vs 2016 for all the fall sports (not including Men's soccer which I'm not sure how the MW would get the gain with teams in CUSA and the WAC)
Fall Sports include: football, women's volleyball, women's soccer, XC championship.

Total 2015 Fall sports views: 357,779
Total 2016 Fall sports views: 514,650

Total increase: 43.8%

This is going to help the MWDN get more ad revenues and a financial gain for the conference.
