I think one of the issues ODU fans have is that we just played a basketball tournament over Thanksgiving in the Bahamas and now we will play our first bowl game over Christmas weekend in the Bahamas. Even some of the most die-hard fans can't make that trip twice in a month, especially on 2 major holidays that are family oriented

ODU, you remind me of the millennials who have all grown up with participation trophies and think the world is supposed to bow down for you and give you everything you want when you want it. What a bunch of p********s Whining over getting a bowl game this early in your infancy in the freakin Caribbean of all places.
We were bowl eligible in our second year of I-A (6-5 in 1999) and didn't even get a sniff. Went 8-3 in our third season and La Tech refused to negotiate to help us land a bowl that wanted us - which helped a P5 school get into a bowl instead of us.
Our first bowl was in freakin Detroit. So, cry me a river.

Good grief, chill out. This is an awesome reward for the players, but unfortunately, it will be tough on the fans. Many just got back from Atlantis on Saturday in time for the football game. Now, to try and make it back out 4 weeks later is tough. (probably 2k per person).
Tell me why ODU fans dont have the right to be a little upset that this is impossible for most fans to attend?

Granted, there would be great support from ODU fans in Detroit because it is far less expensive than traveling to the Bahamas on 3 weeks notice.
I'm happy for the players, they seems excited. Just sucks for the fans that want to support the team.
