Akron has been improving as OOC play has progressed. I still don't give them much of a chance against Creighton or in their upcoming game against Gonzaga. They have talent, but are still very much a work in progress.

Glad to see Akron playing some nationally-ranked teams.. Outside of WMU vs. Villanova the only ranked opponents have been UB at Xavier and then this tuesday when UB plays at Creighton.

KSU plays at #21 Texas in December.

That would be nice but Creighton has looked really good so far. If either can stay close I'll be impressed.

Read my earlier comment. I don't give Akron much of a chance neither.

Listed lines for tonight's games...

CMU -2.5 over W&M
Buffalo +19 vs Creighton

CMU beats William & Mary 91-81. Keane drops 36 to bring his average up to about 31 to lead the nation by about 5ppg over the second highest scorer. Kid can fill it up...

Wow buffalo giving #10 Creighton an even game

RE: MAC Basketball Week 4, 11/28-12/4 - kreed5120 - 11-29-2016 09:49 PM

Creighton 41 - Buffalo 39 at the half. The question will be if Buffalo will be able to play with this type of energy for a full 40 minutes. If not, Creighton should be able to pull away in the 2nd half. If they keep up this intensity and cut back on the turnovers, they have a decent chance of stealing a win.

MAC basketball isn't looking too hot tonight.

Well to be fair I'm only seeing one bad result there and that's Miami. WMU doesn't look to be very good this year and UNCW is pretty decent. Ohio losing is a surprise and a bit disappointing but not a terrible loss.

I posted it when OU was down 18. Miami forced OT. If they escape with a win that will certainly help.

EMU dismantles UofD, 87-61.

RE: MAC Basketball Week 4, 11/28-12/4 - NIU007 - 11-30-2016 10:54 PM

NIU looking disappointing so far this year, I hoped for better. 6 years in, this was our year to finally be competing as one of the better teams in the MAC and it doesn't look like that will happen. Definitely a trend when we never have good free throw shooting and we still don't have consistent outside shooters. Just play zone against us and we're history.

Lot of the new talent from last year (e.g., Mangum) is playing better this year.

EMU's biggest problem might be that there is only one ball and so many players who can and want to shoot it, e.g., JT4, Lee, Mangum, Toney, Bond, etc.

On the downside, the 'vaunted EMU zone defense' doesn't seem to scare anyone any more.

Tell that to detroit, who shot 38% from the field and had 19 turnovers. We aren't that great in the middle anymore, but as active as ever outside. Tons of length on the wings of the zone.

RE: MAC Basketball Week 4, 11/28-12/4 - axeme - 12-01-2016 08:31 AM

Last night:
Wins--Detroit-Mercy, Adrian (though Rocky's wife did drop 40 on the Zips), and Grambling St.
Losses--UNC-Wilm., Marshall, Indiana St.

Going 3-3 with those opponents is a poor night for the conference.

I watched a good bit of the Miami-Grambling game on ESPN3, partly because Grambling plays at Kent Friday. Grambling was really dominating for most of the game, leading by double digits from about the mid-point of the first half, up 12 at half, up 15 in the second half and even still up 13 with 7 min to go. Miami rallied well late, though, and got the benefit of a couple of generous foul calls to get the game to OT. Grambling also missed some clutch FT's in regulation and OT (9/17) Miami hit theirs (23/32) and that was the game.
