My MAC bball power rankings through 12/29/16 - EMU close in on CMU, WMU rising - MaddDawgz02 - 11-21-2016 11:20 PM

I know, I know, everyone has their own ranking system. I have spent some time developing this, so I thought Id share to make people ill. This ranking system has three components 1) offensive ranking with SOS adjustment 2) defensive ranking with SOS adjustment 3) win percentage index of sort which takes into account win percentage and also who you beat and where it was (home vs road). Right now CMU is king in my rankings. I think we maybe all underestimated the Chips going into this year, the depth will be their main challenge, but my gosh can they put up points! I hope these rankings stabilize by Game 10, as WMU is assuredly not the worst team in the conference. These will updated about twice per week at http://www.godawgz.com/MAC_power_rank.htm

The MAC is a sensational conference this year, we need to treasure these days! Many many good teams.

It makes sense Toledo has a high Windex, being home to the Glass Bowl.

I feel really stupid, but where in the heck has Marcus Keene come from, the numbers being put up are astronomical.

he comes from being underestimated it seems. was an all state and san antonio all city player in texas scoring 25 ppg. it looks like his only D1 offer was youngstown st where he played about 20 min a game as a frosh and then broke out to lead the team in scoring as a soph (6th in horizon league). transferred to cmu and seems to have used the rs year to get better. he and braylon rayson form a mighty midget tandem of 5-9 scoring guards from texas to lead the chips

The achilles heel for CMU is the lack of any inside game. It has not hurt yet but as we get into MAC play and teams start to load up on the perimeter it may get to be tough going. No doubt about it though this team can score

CMU took a transfer a few years ago named Kyle Randall who also led us in scoring. I believe he is in the D-League right now. Keene looks to become the second coming of him. Interesting ranking. CMU definitely has been surprising.

Yikes, CMU is getting destroyed in their game tonight.

I doubt WMU will end up bottom of the league but we sure are playing like it right now. I guess 9 frosh will do that.

Yeah I gave CMU a major jinx, when these rankings update in the AM tomorrow, Bobcats will claim the top spot.

After all the talk from fans of some mid-level teams how this was going to be the year they would break through (including me with the Huskies), my power rankings show the same faces on top ughhhhhhh. Zips push to the top of the rankings aided by their 2nd best defensive ranking in the conference
