Dang, I forgot that's a Friday game. I know we will have company and I better get that time ASAP. Probably going to be running from house to house.

Praying for 2:30 pm start as I will be working at least a half day...ugh!

RE: Houston game - UofMark - 11-14-2016 03:12 PM

Thankfully it's not a night game. It's going to be a hard sell on that Friday anyhow but a night game would've been the worst possible outcome turnstile wise.

If the game is the 11 a.m. (CT) slot, it will be on either ABC or ESPN. If it's the 2:30 slot, it'll be on ABC. We will find out Saturday PM

Looks like I've got 2 tickets for sale

Not accusing anyone, just thinking out loud. Why is it most schools who play national/regional tv games on a holiday weekend, in this case Thanksgiving, have no problem filling, or drawing good crowds to their games and Memphis can't. like I said, just wondering out loud.

Why are you assuming there will not be a good crowd Friday?

why does the university that you support for both football and basketball schedule games that you can not attend ? (i dont have a plane)

(the wife picked florida, for basketball)

No real reason, just a hunch, last years game against SMU (realize weather a factor). Hopefully I'm wrong.

I could be wrong, but I think the conference schedule is set by the conference and not the University, but, like I said in my post, Not accusing anyone of anything, just wondering why.

RE: Houston game - mem-x - 11-16-2016 06:18 PM

Because I think for the most part the schools you refer to have, for whatever reason, made their team's football games a priority. The good folk of Memphis simply haven't done that. A Tiger football game is pretty far down the list as something people look forward to, make an effort towards and enjoy. If that wasn't a fact, it would be radically different around here.

We make time and we expend effort in those endeavors we regard highly. The simple answer to your question is that Tiger football (and Basketball when it's not winning), are not highly regarded.

Not rocket science.

RE: Houston game - memphisike - 11-16-2016 06:50 PM

Memphis just doesn't understand we will never get into a big time cocference until we upgrade our ooc schedule and draw between 40 and FIDDYK per game. ACC, is concidering us when Virginia goes to the BIG
