Trump - One term or two? - Claw - 11-11-2016 06:53 PM

Will he run again?

Has he said?

RE: Trump - One term or two? - Niner National - 11-11-2016 06:55 PM

Considering his age and his lifestyle, I say one. He's never been a politician and I think it takes a special kind of douche to be a politician. I think he will want to get back to his billionaire lifestyle to close out his life.

Let's just hope for everyone's sake a second term never comes to fruition.

One, then Pence runs.

I agree. Trump would be 74 turning 75 for a second term, his age was a minor issue for this election would be a HUGE problem at that point.

I get ya....however, that will never happen again....once you've been president, you forfeit any semblance of having a public life....

this is why he had everything to lose either way....

...and is why I found it genuine as became more absorbed within the process.....he just said, "**** it, I'll just have to do this myself"

I easily see that as plausible....

Assuming he hasn't resigned or been impeached first, I predict that he won't announce his intentions until the last possible moment (roughly, January 2020). At that point, he'll stand down unless the polls show him 20 points ahead of the leading Dems.

RE: Trump - One term or two? - firmbizzle - 11-11-2016 09:48 PM

There will be no more presidents. Trump will never leave.

One term.

I would not be surprised if he steps down to let Pence take over after 2-3 years. I'm being serious.

You are someone that thinks Trump will be impeached.

Already looking forward to 2020? Maybe we should just see how the first 100 days goes. We already have riots in the streets and the guy hasnt even done anything yet.

I wouldn't say it's likely, and I'd probably be against it if it happened.
but yeah it wouldn't shock me if it does.

Mainly though, I was just thinking of all the candidates I've voted for or volunteered for through the last 25-30 years, and all the people I've politically-looked up to, and how funny it is that anyone thinks I'm "liberal" (in the Clinton/Obama sense of the word).

RE: Trump - One term or two? - Paul M - 11-11-2016 10:49 PM

He quite possibly may be impeached or resign. Dead serious.

Being honest and realists does not make us liberals. Quite the contrary. Don't know why you all have got on this kick of calling conservatives who criticize the non conservative Trump liberals. We are less liberal than the people pom pom waving for Trump.

This. It is the beginning of a new era. He has raised such a terrific family that we are in good hands dor the next 60+ years.

Sorry if I got the lib part wrong, but reading a poster saying Trump will be impeached before he even takes office is what a lib would post.

RE: Trump - One term or two? - CardinalJim - 11-11-2016 10:51 PM

One term and will leave office more popular than our last great president: Reagan.
Pence will run and win in a landslide. Trump/Pence will be remembered as the administration that brought our Nation back fron the brink.

No it isn't. It's what someone who has paid attention to Trumps life would say.

People are already predicting he will do something to compromise national security or to enrich himself to bring about a Republican impeachment. And you aren't being serious if you discount that the Republicans would prefer Pence already anyway.
