[split] Auburn Tickets Price Discussion - Argue Here - Memphis Blazer - 10-31-2016 02:41 PM

$35 is a ridiculous price. Not a good way to attract new fans.

It's not really.

If I lived in Birmingham and were able to come it would be:

$35 x 4 for my family = $140
Concession Stand = approx. $30
Dinner before or after the game = $30 (if we do fast food)

That's $200 for the night...that's way outside the weekly entertainment budget for my family.

Agree. I can understand a slight increase in price for this game but having all tickets be once price is ridiculous. Upper level seats should be no more than $20.

Agree, but just need to generate as much revenue as we can.

I understand that, but this isn't our only home game this year. It's going to be a sellout, or close to, and we need to generate revenue. I'm not going to complain about the price of one game when most of our tickets are more than reasonably priced.

I can't make it in because my son has a soccer tournament that weekend. If I could, I doubt I could take my entire family because of the price.

While we fans are hoping that there is not a huge Auburn crowd there, it seems that the AD office is hoping there will be a huge Auburn crowd and we can gouge them for all we can.

Auburn should not cost as much (or more) than North Carolina did a couple of years ago.

Or old ones. We won't be attending because of the ticket price.

RE: Auburn Tickets - The Answer UAB - 10-31-2016 10:50 PM

Is $35 really that astronomical? We paid more than that to go to the game at Auburn last year.

RE: Auburn Tickets - rook360 - 11-01-2016 12:31 AM

$35 is fair for a marquee game

Good for you. We really wanted to go to Auburn last year, but not everyone can afford to do that. $35 is not "astronomical," but it's not in the budget for us or for many other folks. If this were a better team, maybe. But it's just Auburn. I'd rather save that money so we can go to more games this season.

RE: Auburn Tickets - BatesUAB - 11-01-2016 10:00 AM

The $35 is to squeeze money out of Auburn folks we knew they would buy a ton of tix so why not milk it...

I think that's the problem. Too many don't view this as a marquee game...and I'm not sure that I disagree with them.

6 teams in our one bid conference finished with a better RPI than Auburn last season.

The market will allow the $35 ticket. Get real.

Which is why we have this thread begging people to buy tickets they don't need...

The thread is for UAB fans to show up to a big game. That is the problem, not the price. Don't you think? The tickets will sell.

The Auburn game is BY FAR this season's marquee non-conference (home) game - and many are predicting Pearl to have a much improved team

RE: Auburn Tickets - BAMANBLAZERFAN - 11-01-2016 10:33 AM

There just is no such animal as "cheap family entertainment" at any sports, concert, theater or etc venue. If the event can't make sufficient money, it just does not happen -- at least not more than once.

Just asking. What do people think would be a fair price for this game? $25?

RE: Auburn Tickets - ICB - 11-01-2016 11:36 AM

Concerning the ticket prices, I have heard so often than fans should show up to watch their team play, regardless of who the opponent is. But obviously, even the AD view certain games bigger than the others. Once I saw the difference in price, I almost didn't order extra.
