DJ Stephens Is Ready To Take The Next Step

I hope he makes the team and then makes an impact.

Go DJ!

I hope the Grizz find a spot for him. From his freshman season on...the only thing that ever happened when he went into the game were good results for his team.
Block...steal....slam dunk...blocked shot.

He's an energy guy...and a really good feel good story for his adopted hometown. No better way to honor his hustle and commitment than to have him on the team...even if its coming off the bench for an energy boost.

Some PR dude needs to get the announcers a pronunciation card. It's Steffffff -ins.

Gonna be tough...they already have 15 guaranteed contracts...maxed out...would have to cut a guaranteed guy to make room

Dj will most likely go back to the nbdl, and get called up to the NBA in the event of an injury.

Can the Dude put the ball on the floor and bust a 10Ft. J, until he can do these two things he won't make the show. I hope he has improved these parts of his game. Remember the Dude had serious HOPS when he walked on campus

Read the article. They address the shooting question, in depth.

I can't think of anyone i would like to see make it in the NBA more than DJ. He loves this city and the fans and we love him.

Memphis Grizzlies have waived JaKarr Sampson, Wayne Selden Jr. and D.J. Stephens.

Looks like Troy Williams is getting the spot DJ was fighting for. The Grizz will waive Jordan Adams.

Maybe DJ will get picked up by another team. The Grizz cut Hassan Whiteside twice. He just signed a $100 million contract.

Hate that. Hate it.

Williams is just a more versatile player. DJ was 0-5 from the line and didn't shoot well from the 3 in the preseason games. It was a no brainer

DJ Stephens is no Hassan Whiteside....

Sadly he will always be 6-5

^ if the Dude could put the ball on the floor and bust a 10Ft. J he'd be in the NBA

The point is that the Grizz cut a guy who is now playing at an all-star level. Which means either Whiteside worked his tail off to be better or the Grizz did a poor job of getting the most out of him and finding a spot. Maybe a combination of both. DJ isn't a center, but that doesn't mean he can't get it together after leaving the Grizz.

So who in your opinion should they have cut to keep a 6-5 guy that can't take anyone off the dribble or shoot a good percentage ? I don't get what your point is. They cut Whiteside because they had Gasol and Koufos at the time
