How can we be taken seriously as a conference when 2 of our best teams lose to schools in conferences we are allegedly better than? And one of the losses was an absolute beating. Face it guys, we are the lowest of the low.

Who hasn't seen this coming? Everybody had rose colored shades on and negative reppin me when I was pointing out concern. We are the worst conference in FBS and maybe even below the Missouri Valley Conference in FCS. If not today then tomorrow. CUSA has no money and no exposure and programs nobody cares about.

For Christ's sakes the Sunbelt has Georgia Southern, App State, Arkansas State, and Louisiana. Hell even Georgia State and Texas State can fool a casual fan into thinking they're sombodies and anybody with a Roku can watch them on the ESPN ap.

Time to bust it all up and go more regional. No one is going anywhere else anyway. Time to get back to real college football.
For instance, USM and Troy should be playing every year with something on the line. Throw in LaTech, SAlabama, UAB, ULL, and a couple more and you got traveling fans and some fun football.

Marshall having to play Toledo, Bowling Green, Ohio, NIU,... would be a gauntlet now. Can't even hang with Akron.

once the super conference and it's potential to leverage never materialized (mwc/cusa), it only makes 'cents' at this point....
however, the problem then becomes recruiting and selling out....
perception is a big deal when it comes to attendance and investment....
I wouldn't want to be in Bennet's nor Big Mac's shoes during this realignment phase....
....and trust me....I'm beyond finished with the market bs....my first post on this site and many subsequent were due to the first phase years ago....
the cold hard fact is it will take a miracle to put southern miss on any map of
'worth' other than our current fan base/conference as the clock tick-tocks....
coaching is almost certain to be a revolving door moving forward.....that's a huge problem
we'll still get the rogue players and late bloomers....but the days of consecutive winning seasons are 50/50 at best now
it's a shame to have watched the potential erode that was available ~35 yrs ago in both football and hoops....
addendum: hell, the big boys are going to form their uber conference in about a decade anyway....if I live long enough, it will be interesting to see how moo-u and the black bears respond....no way they get invited to that dance....ol' pissy might make the cut after threatening multiple lawsuits....but I doubt it....

it's a business decision that only makes sense at this point in the game over the next decade....and you guys arrived late with the ugly chicks on the field o' play....
such is the latest version of 'cutthroat'....there is zero allure other than bikinis and beach volleyball in boca/dade.....the majority of both demographics couldn't care less about football....
there is no questioning how southern miss has remained stagnant whilst wasting our ops.....however, you guys are akin to UTEP unless you choose to go the route of UNC/U in the cheating dept...
good luck with that as a g5'r....at the end of the day, we're all fk'd.....

We both may have to go to ACC. We're, certainly, large enough, we just don't have any sort of footballing tradition.
