Vote for new U of M license plates - tigergreen - 08-08-2016 12:20 PM

I'm torn between #2 & #3. I think 3 will show up better on a car, though.
If they made the skyline & bridge gray instead of that baby blue accent the U of M uses now, I'd go for it. I just don't like that color as part of the overall scheme.

Same here - 2 and 3 but leaning towards #3.

They were all pretty good, but the darker background of 3 got me

RE: Vote for new U of M license plates - tiger.fish - 08-08-2016 12:52 PM

#3

RE: Vote for new U of M license plates - Tygrys - 08-08-2016 12:56 PM

Definitely 3.

RE: Vote for new U of M license plates - Claw - 08-08-2016 01:02 PM

Just leave the background white.

RE: Vote for new U of M license plates - ksigtigerdood - 08-08-2016 01:05 PM

I'd personally like #2 with a gray background (skyline). If that isn't an option, #3.

2 because of the pyramid

RE: Vote for new U of M license plates - umbluegray - 08-08-2016 02:06 PM

I like the darker background of 3, so that's what I voted for.

I like 2, but isn't the bridge on the wrong side of the Pyramid/Skyline?

RE: Vote for new U of M license plates - HometownTiger - 08-08-2016 02:16 PM

3

It's from a Frayser perspective. lol

If you're going to screen something in the background, #1 is the only way to go. That gray runs into the black numbers and is too similar.

Needs to be screened further if you want the gray bridge.

All good.

Like number two...will they all be available?

RE: Vote for new U of M license plates - TIGERBUDDY - 08-08-2016 06:19 PM

07-coffee3 The University of Memphis needs to be in larger script.

That is why I voted for number 2

I just wish we could get moving on UM Texas plates.

Get working on it 04-rock
Seriously, I think the first ones for TN happened due to grass roots pushing and not b/c of the school if I remember correctly. A group of fans really wanted it so they started pushing for it.

(But then again, I may just be crazy in what I think I remember)

RE: Vote for new U of M license plates - Chi-TownTiger - 08-09-2016 09:35 AM

The gray in 3 is too dark and fights with the numbers. Background should stay in the the background. #1 with light gray background.

I think what "grass roots" there are in Texas are a bit less than Tennessee, so I don't know how much noise we could make. I checked into this a year or more ago but my phone didn't start ringing. Our Alumni association here in Dallas is relatively small. I think UM would have to pony up some $ and that may be what stopped it.

that's true. I think it required a certain number of people asking for it or something like that before the state would agree to do it.
