UTEP yes but NMSU doesn't add a ton except getting any even number of teams.

N.M. State plays pretty good basketball and baseball I think. Yes, they bring nothing in football. But they are in the in state rival for NM. They are on the other side of the mountain from UTEP. They fit right into the MWC footprint. It seems like a natural fit.

"IF" the Big 12 were to add 4 teams, bringing all the "major" conferences to 14 teams, minus the Pac 12, would the Pac then feel the need to expand by two more teams? Who would they go after?

I don't like NMSU for the MWC as long as New Mexico is there. It feels redundant despite NMSU's advantages.

Yeah, kinda. But I like conferences that have the big state schools together as rivals (VT vs. UVa, Ole' Miss vs. Miss St., most of the Pac, etc.)

Saw somebody offering an opinion on the AAC board that if three of their teams were taken by the Big 12, the teams to replace them should be Army, Air Force, and Colorado St. That would be a miracle to pull off and would be really great additions to the AAC after taking a big hit.

I don't think you'll see major changes like that. You're suggesting a major shift that just isn't going to happen. They'll likely take Cinci and Houston. BYU left hanging again due to their standard of conduct for students, including not allowing gays and lesbians to live out that lifestyle while students. AAC will pick up two schools from conf USA and they'll stand pat at 12. Just my two cents.

I do think it's becoming abundantly clear that Liberty has no chance of being added to a conference. You think the GLTB community has come out against BYU, can you imagine thev push back against Liberty?

Honestly I don't think it would be bad because
1. Y'all being considered to join the Sun Belt wouldn't make headlines, even if y'all did join the only people that would notice are G5 fans, Liberty fans, and butthurt FCS fans that get upset because no good program truly wants to be FCS. SJW only go against things that will get them noticed.
2. Most of the country that has actually heard of y'all just knows you as an online college if at all. Honestly before these boards the only reason I knew of y'all was because of your TV ads for online classes. Y'all are not as famous or infamous as you like to believe. Probably for the best since y'all seem to think that everyone is against y'all.
FWIW y'all would be a great add.

One other thing, the Sunbelt was vetting EKU last year instead of us. If you know anything about EKU, you know they have no business even considering going FBS. If given the opportunity the SB will select them over us.

You have to remember though. Most us SBC fans are fans of teams that were FCS so they were at least familiar with y'all. Idk why they dislike y'all so much, but I also don't know why it bothers y'all either. No one on these boards has any power over who gets selected.
Also you're right about EKU. They're not in the SBC for a reason.

Ga State has to be on the short list if Conf USA needs to fill a spot or two. They've shown in the past that market size is a key factor for them. Ga State would be number one on that list.

I saw the Turner Field purchase. That's huge, but you've got to get fan support and win. I know you went to a bowl game last year, but you can't go backwards this year. Having a smaller, more intimate stadium should help draw some fans. I have no ill will towards Ga State. Panama, you still owe me an adult beverage for you guys losing to us last year.
