If Coach Herman has been preaching anything to the players, it is that last year was last year. If you listen or read any of his recent interviews, he's quite clear that he doesn't let his players mention the Peach Bowl win or beating Florida St., or even remotely refer to last year's team as "we". He makes them understand THIS year's team hasn't done anything yet.

Fans gonna be fans, but I'm confident, Herman has his players mindset in the right place. If another AAC team steps up and wins the conference, it won't be because the UH players thought it was gonna be a cake walk.

Frankly, it's going to be a tall mountain for any of us to climb to beat the Cougars and Houston seems to have a coach that doesn't foster self-destruction losses that have occurred in the past.
